winners
HENSALL - The Exeter Petite
Ringette team hosted the Stratford
Sinclairs Saturday and won 6-2.
Exeter started the -scoring at 13:14
on a goal from Danielle Miners.
Cara Gardner followed suit nine
minutes later on an unassisted ef-
fort. Stratford came back on a shot
from Connie 1nckman, with two
minutes left in the first.
Stratford's Sarah Knight scored
early in the second half to tie the
game.
Exeter rebounded back strongly
with four goals; two from Gardner
and singles from Miners and Sonya
Lawrence. Assisting on the goals
were Judi Wilson, Cheryl Wein; Te-
resa Stire, heather Davies, Jo -Dee
Rowe, Amy Edwards, Miners and
Gardner.
Exeter's Jana Webster. played a.
gcxxi game in goal snipping a num-
ber of shots.
The Petites next game is Saturday
in Hensall at 4:30 against Seaforth.

Bullets drop squeaker
3-2 decision to Mt. Brydges
MT. BRYDGES - The Exeter Big
V Bullets Pee Wee hockey team
lost 3-2 squeaker to Mount Brydges
on Sunday, surrendering the win-
ning goal with 1:30 gone in the fi-
nal period.
Scott Parsons opened the scoring
for the Bullets, with the only goal
of the first period, an unassisted ef-
fort.
Shawn Webster made it 2-0 for
the visitors, with a goal at' the nine
minute mark of the second, from
Parsons.
Mount Brydges then mounted a
comeback hitting fora pair of goals
later that period and picked up the
winning goal in the third.
Exeter was given six minor pen-
alties while four were called, to the
winners.

Crunchers tie Forest 3-3
EXETER - The Exeter Atom
Crunchers and Forest played to a
3-3 draw at the South Huron Rec
Centre on Saturday. Forest scored
three times in the final period to
earn the single point.
The first period was scoreless de-
spite several good scoring chances
by Exeter. Forest's goalie came up
big on several occasions.
Geoff Hann opened the scoring
for Exeter, from Jeff Mason and
Bryon Ellcrington, in the second
period.
Exeter added two more goals in
the third period, both from Bryce
Hann from Billy Kline.
Forest came back with three
goals, eventually tying the game
with 45 seconds left to play.
Both goalies, Michael Schwindt
of Exeter and Jace McCahill of
Forest, played well throughout the
game making several fine stops.
The Crunchers travelled to Ilder-
ton for a game yesterday, Tuesday,
evening. .

Zone roll offs for OV Open begin
SEAFORTH - The first 10 game
block for the OV Open was bowled
in Seaforth and Clinton on Decem-
ber 4. The top 10 men and nine
women advance to the Provincial
Championships in March 1989 in
Hamilton. This is a scratch tour-
nament with no handicaps given.

Clinton, December 3:
The visitors led 8-0 after the first
period and 11-0 after the second and
didn't let up in thc third, scoring
eight more times.
Shawn Sherwood scored seven
times for the winners, five times in
the first, Shawn Kramer had a pair
Clinton 19-0
in the first and Barry Edwards scored
four goals total, once in the first.
Jamie Clarke scored twice in the
second, five times total, and Kevin
Thompson tallied once.
Robbie Connors picked up the
shutout for the Stephen Township
team.
The locals improved their record
to 3-1 overall
Broncos drop heartbeaker
EXETER - The Exctcr Broncos
played host to the Lucan Atoms and •
lost 2-1 in a close. came.
After playing two scoreless peri-
ods, Lucan scored the first goal of •
the game five minutes into thc third
period. Rob Lynn defectatt a shot
from Marty DCBrtryn to tic thc
score. Chad Gilfillan also drew an
assist on the goal. -
Lucan scored thc last goal one
minute' later, and Exeter was unable
•to reply in the last four minutes of
the game.
The Broncos skated extrertielyl
well in the loss and missed on sev-
eral scoring opportunities.
