Petites lose Bronze
EXETER - The Exeter Petite
Ringettc team played in the second
Annual Godcrich tournament Satur-
day. -
- Exeter met Goderich in their first -
game and tied 4-4 and Stratford
Megalloy in the second an won 4-1.
With three points total, the Exeter
team advanced to the Bronze final
where they met a strong Forest
team and lost 5-3.
Sunday the girls travelled to St.
.Marys where they won 6-0 in a reg-
ular -season game.
In the first game of the tourna-
ment, Exeter took the lead at 11:07
of the first half on a goal by Cara
Gardner from Leeann Foster. Gard-
.. mer and Foster combined again with
the help of Cheryl Wein, only three
{Minutes later.
Karen Harrison got Godetich into
the game on a goal with six min-
utes left in the first.
Godcrich jumped into the lead ear-
ly in the second with two goals
from Hcathcr Moss an one more
from Karen Harrison. Exeter's
Gardner managed two more to tic
the -score late in the game. Danielle
'Miners and Sonya Laurence helped
on the scoring plays.
Exeter's second game started with
an unassisted effort from Gatdncr as
12:17. After seven minutes of end-
to-end play Stratford picked up a
goal from. Susan Pann. Seconds
later, Miners scored with assists
from Heather Davies and Judi Wil-
son.

Again Gardner scored in an unas-
sisted fashion to finish the scoring
for the first half.
Strong goaltending by Jana Web
ster held Stratford scoreless in the
second. The only goal in the sec-
ond came from' Exeter's Miners, on
a passing play from Lawrence and
Amy Edwards.
In the Bronze final Exeter scored
three goals in the first. Cara Gard-
ner fired two unassisted and the
third came from Amy Edwards with
.tssists from Miners and Teresa
Stirs: -
Forest's Goaltender held Exeter
scoreless in the second half, while
Bonny Gordon scored four through-
out the game for Forest and Amy
Hill managed one.
Most Valuable Player awards
were handed out for each game of
the tournament. Exeter's winners
were Cara Gardner, Danielle Miners
and Jana Webster. -
In Sunday's Si. Marys game the
Petites controlled the play for most
of the game.
First-half scoring came from -Son-
ya Lawrence and Leeann Foster.
Ristcr'taned the scoring in the sec-
ond with Jo -Dee Rowe, Amy Ed
wards, and Cheryl Wein-each adding
singles. . -
Assists came from Heather Da -

Bridge game was played Wednes-
day night at Exeter Legion.
Tied for first and second were
Carol and Dennis Hockey, and
Bea Ballantyne and Beryl Elgie.
Tied for third and fourth were Lois
Snell and -Rosalie Berends -and
Marie and John Brintnell.
