sists in the 8 -4 -win over the Harris
ton Blues.
Sunday night the Mohawks de-
feated the Elora Rocks 5.2 at the
South Huron Rec Centre, with a
full lineup:
Brooks was forced to play because
three regular players were missing
and they had only 13 skaters for the
game, including Brooks.
"Considering it was my first
game all year with body contaot, I
didn't feel too bad after the game,"
said Brooks. "1 hope I am never
needed to play again but it's nice to
let the guys know that 1 can play if
I have to." -

handled the duties behind the bench
while Brooks was on the ice.
Brooks said things are finally
coming together for his team after
the first 11 gimes.

place for us tight know. I think we
are getting better defensively, guys
are coming back and helping out
the defence like we should anti eve-
rybody else is getting into the act.
We aren't doing a lot of things we
are not capable of right now, -We
know what our abilities are," said
sports

nately all three teams were unsuc-
cessful in their attempts.
Thc Midget boys were quite com-

had an excellent rebounding game
and Mark Keller and Peter Overholt
played well as guards.
Randy Johnson was top scorer
with 10 points followed by Terry
Guenther and Jason Heywood adding
six each.
Coach George McEwen feels the
team "looks good for upcoming Hu-
ron Perth action".
The Junior boys played an intense
game which ended ina 41-40 clash
in- favour of the Vikings. Both
teams •fought to the finish but the
Panthers canis up short.

pointed with the timers, scorers and
officials of the game and felt it was
definitely anybody's game.
- Steve DuBarry led the team with
21 points, followed by Brett Borden
with seven and Jason Clarke had
six. ,

culty against Goderich losing 55-
20. The Panthers put forth an out-
standing effort but couldn't catch

EXETER - All good things must
come to an end! °
The Exeter Hawks had there four -
game winning streak snapped Friday
night when they lost 6 -2 -to the Lu-
can Irish at the South Huron Rec
Centre.
They managed a 7-7 tie in Sea -
forth against the Centenaires Sun-
day afternoon.
A lack of offensive output cost
the Hawks against Lucan because
the Irish scored four unanswered
third period goals after Jean Paul
Cousineau had tied the scored 2-2 at
1:13 of the final period. It was only
one of two shots that the Hawks
:ould manage on Lucan goalie
Doug Haskiit in the last period, as
Lucan cruised to the win.
The Irish had 33 shots on Hawk
netminder Todd Campbell over
three periods, while the Hawks
could only manage 15 on Haskett,
but stayed close until the third.peri-
od because of many fine stops by •
Campbell.
"We had our bubble burst there in
thethird period. They (Lucan) are a
big tough team and earned full
marks for their win," said Hawk
coach Jack Nairn.
The Irish got a pair of goals from
Joe Febrey and Darren Neil each and
Scott Denomy and Jamie Pearce
each picked up one goal..
Jim Lewis hit the score sheet first
for the Hawks, from Jean Paul
Cousineau and Derek Shackclton.
Cousineau fired the other goal for
the Hawks early in the third, from
Shackleton.
