Sunday School program goes Sunday at Crediton UC

CREDITON - Next Sunday De-
'.cember 11 at 10:30 a.m. the Sun-
day School will present their
Christmas program in place of our .
regular workshop service. Plan to
bring along sandwiches, and cook-
ies.or squares and stay for lunch. A
beverage will be provided. Come
out and support the young folks.
The sermon topic at Crediton -
United Church was taken from Mal-
achi'l : 1-14 and I Peter 2: 1-17
.titled "Leftovers for God."
There will be no choir practice
Wednesday evening.

mas meeting was held Thursday
evening December 1 with a pot .
luck turkey dinner at 6:30 p.m.
Husbands or friends were guests. -

Mary Kenney presided for busi-
ness. Roll call was answered with
"a special Christmas you remem-

Annual meeting
The church's annual meeting will
be .on. January 30 beginning with
pot luck supper at 6:30 p.m. White
gift Sunday will be December'4 and
Sunday school Concert on Decem-
ber 11 •at. 10:30 a.m. with lunch to
follow.
Explorers. -
Explorers dinner will be on De-
cember 13. Mrs. Marion Dearing
and husband and Mr. and Mrs.
Robt. Peebles were guests. Mrs.
Dearing, president of the South Hu-
ron Regional, spoke a few words of
greeting.
Rev. Robt Peebles presided for
the installation of -officers for 1989.

Club holds dance
Crediton and District Social Club.
held their Winter Wonderland dance
on Saturday December 3. The hall
. was all attractively decorated with
boughs and white teddy bears and
• lights. Snowflakes hung from the
ceiling. -
Happy Bilrthday was sung to
Mary Glavin, Marlene Glavin, and
Don Winter.
John Prichard won the door prize.
Everyoneenjoyed delicious turkey
lunch and all the trimmings. Mu-
sic was' by Smoky Hollow.

THAMES ROAD - Rev. Sheila
Macgregor was in charge of the reg-
ular church service. The church was
very tastefully decorated; and a real
Christmas tree donated by Rick and
Karen Etherington was also decorat-
ed for Christmas.
Robert Bray lit the advent candles
and Kathy Bray said "We light this
candle for -Peace because Christ
brings Peace to every heart".
Rev. Sheila gave -the childrens
message "Love- and Getting Ready
For Christmas".
. The choir sang "Angels We Have
Heard On High" accompanied by
the organist Miss Agnes Bray.
The sermon was entitled "Paying
Attention," the test taken from
Revelation 3: verse 20.
December activities
The mid week groups (Explorers,
Tyros and Messengers) will be
Christmas Carolling on Tuesday
December 13. Meet at Thomas
Road church at 6:30.p.m.
There will be a Christmas Open
House held at the manse on Sunday
December 11 from 2-4 and 7-9.
Hosted by Elimville U.C.W. and
the Macgregor family: Everyone
welcome. -
White Gift Service will be held
on Sunday December 11 at 11:15
a.m. -
Sunday school Christmas -Concert
will be held on Tuesday December
20 at 7:30 p.m. in thc church base-
ment. Everyone welcome.
