A number of golfers braved the cold, windy weather for a social game of golf followed by a lunch- eon. After lunch, trophies and prizes were awarded to the following: "A" Flight - Helen Burton, Run- ner up - Bette Smith, "B" Flight .- Jean Jean Crerar, Runner up - Bette Coates; "C" Flight - Peggy Fergu son,.Runner up - Jean Little. • Cathy Robbins received the tro- phy for the most improved golfer and a gift of appreciation was given to Shirloy Bilcski. The new executive -was chosen for 1989: President - Jean•Crerar, Secretary -Treasurer - Sheila Reab- urn, Games - Helen Burton and Ede Boyle. MEN'S CLUB -WRAPS UP - Members of the Exeter Golf and Country Club men's night concluded their season with, a Sunday tourney. Winners from the left are 'B' low gross Bob Reynolds. :A' low net Brian Brooks, 'B' low net Monty Scott, 'C' low gross John Batten and 'C' low net Larry Pole. Missing was 'A' flight low gross winner and over- all champion Steve Dubarry Exeter club men's night complete year EXETER - A total of 25 mem- bers participated in Sunday's men's night season wrap-up tourney at the -Exeter golf and country club. Steve Dubarry fired a 77 to win low gross in the 'A' flight and overall championship. Brian Brooks was thc low net winner at 68. • In 'B' flight, Bob Reynolds and Monty Scott were the gross and net winners; respectively with scores of 89 and 66. John Batten also notched an 89 to lead the 'C flight in low gross. Best in net at 62 was Larry Pole. ' John Batten won a trophy for be- ing closest to thc hole on number three and other winners in the same • category were Bob Reynolds, Kitch Pavlick; Steve Dubarry, Bob Os- good, Brian Brooks and Frank Du - harry. In the final regular night of play on September 20 , all participants played the course in_a reverse order. . In 'A' flight, Steve Dubarry at 41 and Bob Reynolds with a 44 were best in low gross. Net winners were Don Wallace and Kitch Pavlick. Best in 'B' flight low gross were Garry Koehler and Al Bell with Bob Osgood, Larry Pole and Hans Ger- stenkorn taking honours in low net. Steve Dubarry fashioned the long- est drive, Larry Pole was closest to the hole and skins winners were Frank Dubarry and Kitch Pavlick. The 50-50 winner was John Batten. In door prizes, Bob Osgood won a $450 golf bag and a driver worth S250 was won by Gary Kyle. The Exeter men's league would like to thank Ron and Shirley Bile - ski for all the help and -patience dur- ing the club's first year. Also thanks for "letting us pfay.in your back yard". The genius of communication is the ability to be both totally honest and totally kind at the same time. - WINNERS - Trophies were handed out at the Exeter Golf Club to end the season for the lady golfers. Taking home trophies were Peggy Ferguson, C flight champ (left), Hel- en Burton, A flight and Jean Crerar, B flight. Missing was most improved player Cathy Robbins. Extate golf EXETER - A mixed golf tourna- ment sponsored by Extate Real Es- tate was held on the weekend. Wil Chisholm was best in low gross and Dan Heywood the low net winner in the 'A' flight. In flight 'B' Ron Dawe topped low gross and Ron Chanyi won in low net. In 'C' flight the winners were Dave Prance in gross and Ken Ka- dey for net. On the women's side, Hazel Bea- ver emerged as low gross winner in 'A' flight with net honours going to Marlene Parsons. In 'B' flight, Grace Farquhar took low gross and M:J. Chanyi prevailed in low net. 'The 'C' flight winners were Mary Ellison and Kim Dawe.
