'Carmel Sweeney ZURICH - The Brownie meetings are held again every Tuesday eve- ning in the St. Boniface School gym from 6:30 - 8:00. Thirty young girls have joined this year. Thanks to leaders Deb Overholt, Vicki Ducharme, Patti Geoffrey, Chrism Keller and Colleen Keller for making this possible. Rest- Houle Convention . The Ontario Association of Non- profit Homes and Services for Sen-_. iors 69th annual convention .was held in Toronto at the Harbour Cas- tle. Speakers came from as far as California.. Phone convention The Hay Municipal Telephone system held a two-day convention. for their employees last Monday and Tuesday. The first day was held at the Stan - Icy Complex in Varna, while every- one spent Tuesday in London at the - Holiday Inn. Golden Agers . Zurich Golden Agers met Sep- tember 12 for a pot -luck supper. Prior to the supper Irene Davis in- stalled the new executive for the coming year: President Louise Ivan - DONATIONS UP - Despite the fact that therewere only 24 participants in this year's version of the Terry Fox run for cancer research, donations were up. The Wednesday evening games are involving more and more of the ;Residents, due perhaps to the short- er daylight hours. The Sunday evening chapel ser- vice was conducted by Rev. Chas. Henderson of Exeter. Some residents attended Monday's performance of "Flying High" at Grand Cove estates in Grand Bend. Queensway ews HENSALL - Hello! Welcome to Queensway news. Monday morn- ing several residents gathered in the Sun Room to sip tea and discuss current events. Tuesday some residents enjoyed a trip to the Western' Fair. Thank you very much to Wanda McClin- chey for accompanying them while at the fair. Rev. Sam Parker with Bob Cameron as volunteer pianist led the church service on Tuesday afternoon. Qucensway Ladies Auxiliary -met on Wednesday moming and several women workcd on a Christmas Craft item. Members of the Baking Club mixed up some delicious • squares in the afternoon. A few Agriculture Club mem- bers visited Hensall Stock Sale on Thursday afternoon. We have really enjoyed these outings and we thank Vic Hargreaves for making us so welcome. A FAMILY EFFORT - Josh Watson (centre), his father Russ and brother Matthew turned the Terry Fox run into a family event Sunday. Josh was the biggest contributor in the run, raising $309 for the charity.
