game. He scored from a direct free
kick late in the second overtime pe-
riod.
Throughout the tournament the
strong defensive play by Exeter 11
defenders Allan McFalls, Mark
Lynn and Tony Armstrong was in-
strumental in the win for Exeter 11.
In under 17 action, Exeter defdted
Lucan by a 3-0 score as Geoff Sand-
ers, Jason McFalls and Greg Lam-
port scored for Exeter.
Because of the better goal.aver-
age, Exeter received a bye into the
A final. Their opponents in thc fi-
nal turned out to be a strong *St.
Columban team that never lost a
point in league play all season.
The Exeter youngsters cheered on
by a large contingent of fans,
played. their ,best game of the sea-
son.
In the first half Exeter had most
of the play but in the second half,
St. Columban took over. Howev-
er, in regulation time nobody could'
score.
In the ensuing overtime, St. Co-
lumban kept pressing and it was
only the superb goaltending by Tim
McAllister that kept the score at 0-
0 until two minutes from the end of
the second overtime when a St. Co-
lumban player scored from a scram-
ble in front of thc net and sent Ex-
eter home the losers.
In playoff action, Exeter teams
participated in five of a possible six
playoff A finals, won one lost one
to regulation time and -lost three in
overtime. Thanks to all the-rcferees
and coaches who participated in an-
other successful season and we will
see everyone on October 2 at 1
