Their opponents in thc fi- nal turned out to be a strong *St. Columban team that never lost a point in league play all season. The Exeter youngsters cheered on by a large contingent of fans, played. their ,best game of the sea- son. In the first half Exeter had most of the play but in the second half, St. Columban took over. Howev- er, in regulation time nobody could' score. In the ensuing overtime, St. Co- lumban kept pressing and it was only the superb goaltending by Tim McAllister that kept the score at 0- 0 until two minutes from the end of the second overtime when a St. Co- lumban player scored from a scram- ble in front of thc net and sent Ex- eter home the losers. In playoff action, Exeter teams participated in five of a possible six playoff A finals, won one lost one to regulation time and -lost three in overtime.
