Lioness Clubs
make donation
CLINTON -- In the spring of
1988, the five .Lioness Clubs in
•.the County of Huron, namely Ex--
ctcr, Bayfield, Seaforth, Vanastra
and Godcrich, agreed to purchase
equipment for the loan *cupboard
.operated by the Huron Unit of the
• Canadian Cancer. Society.-'ihc- ioan
cupboard is a storeroom for equip-
ment and supplies to be 'used by
cancer patients within the county
in their homes. The equipment and
supplies provided. to cancer patients
in order to Ict them remain in their
homes, as opposed to being hospi-
talized, has -provided a tremendous
-boost to the. spirits of the patients
and welcome assistance to the pa-
tients' families.- •
The five Lioness Clubs raised in
excess of SI ,(XX) and purchased one
trapeze and stand, three hack rests
and nine sheepskins for the Cancer
Society. The Cancer Society also
„ • provides transportation; ostomy
• ,uliplies.:assiiii viers,, home=
—Making and drugs to cancer pa-
. tients in need of assitance. -
The Lioness Chubs within the
County of Iluron provide a great
deal in the way of -time, energy and
donations toward various commu-
nity projects and in the way of
good fellowship amongst its mem-
bers.. No. doubt you arc aware of
various projects sponsored by the
Lioness Club in your community
and know int; that thc profit goes -
back into such things as thc equip-
ment mentioned in this article,
-should he an incentive for all of us
to participate in any future endea-
vour sponsored by the Lioness
Clubs.
.The services provided by the Hu-
ron County Day Care are some-
thing to he proud of. To have such
a service available in a mainly ru-
'ral ('ounty with its hack roads,
winter driving and the distance
which the Homemakers have to
travel, is a benefit that we should
be thankful for.

meeting of our Lady of Mt. Carmel.
C.W.L. was held on.Tuesday, Sep-
tember 6. Theresa Larkin welcomed
all members. and extended a special
welconic to new members.
Minutes of the last meeting were
read, and conveners' reports given.
Diana Hardy gave best wishes to all
the ladies celebrating birthdays in
August and -September: .

yard sale., coffee Sundays, selling
quilt tickets, the cookbook and any
