Merner completes Australian tour

ZURICH - Kathy Merner returned
last week from an exciting three-
week figure skating tour with the
Rhapsody on Ice Show in New Zea-
land and Australia. She alsb took
part in the Australia Skate '88 com-
.pctiuon held in Sydney. .

Monday Night Ladies Bowling
League that bowling starts again.on

Mortgages
increased
OTTAWA - Farm Credit Corpo-
ration today announced that the in-
terest rate on Shared Risk Mortgag-
es (SRM) approved after August
26, 1988, has been increased to
12.75 perccnt from the previous
12.25 perccnt.
Shared Risk Mortgages are funded
by. a combination of long- and
short-term borrowings. While long-
term interest rates have remained
steady, short-term rates have risen
making it necessary to increase the
SRM lending rate.
The interest rates on other loans -
offcrcd by the Corporation are un-
changed. •
Golden Glimpses
ZURICH - The weekend weather
was not ideal for everyone to end
their summer vacations and several
of our residents who can be sten
taking their regular walks every
morning around the driveways have
had to take their fall clothing out of
storage.
Monday afternoon,. Mr: Marc •
Chalut took the residents out on
their regular . bus ride, . this time
through the Oakwood arca and other
sub -divisions when they enjoyed
pointing out homes of family and
friends.
Several of our ladies enjoy the
Tuesday afternoon cookie baking
time, as well those of us who are
drawn to thc finished product by the
aromas.
Residents who were out visiting
