HENSALL - An Agriculture
Club has been added to the list of
activities for residents of the
Queensway Nursing Home and ac-
tivities director Carol Gascho hopes
it will renew old ties for those with
agricultural backgrounds.
' The club's first activity was a
field trip to the Hensall livestock
auction sale fast Thursday for four
Queensway residents.
Gascho said the ideal outing for
the residents is four at a time and
the small numbers make it easier

for the community to prepare for
their arrival.
The club will be contacting the
Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and
Food as well as local 4-H clubs for
support and information. It is ex-
pected the club's members will be
able to participate in activities
twice a month.
• Another benefit of an agricultural
club is its appeal to the male resi-
dents of Queensway. This is im-
portant, said Gascho, because so
many nursing home activities and
clubs are geared towards their larger
female populations.
Gascho finds some residents still
have their contacts with the agricul-
tural inaustrics. She cites Gerald
Heffron as an example; many of
those at the stock yards Thursday
welcomed Heffron back, remember-
ing when he drove "a stock truck for
Hensall Livestock Sales.

HOW DOES A FUNERAL HELP THE LIVING?
Funeral services act as a focusing point for the grief people feel at the
loss of a friend or loved one. The funeral is a chance for those close to
the departed to gather, share memories -and help each other through a
diffiCult time.
If there is no funeral, or if only a memorial service is held, such sharing
may be incomplete. Memorial services alone fail to emphasize the fact
that death has occurred, partly because they usually take place after
the most intense grief feelings have passed.
But a funeral --- with visitations at the funeral home, religious services
and a committal service -- helps the bereaved finallyto accept their
loss.
If you have questions about funeral arrangements, please stop in and
talk with us.
