GRAND BEND - Grand Bcnd was
crowded with families for the Sand-
castle. Days 'this weekend, and the
children weren't disappointed. In ad-
dition to the beach, the lake and a
wide variety of restaurants availa-
ble, there was a parade, beauty con-
tests, sandcastle competition, and
lots of food eating contests. Some-
thing for everyone at the Bend!
In Lcgion news. Grand Bend Lc-
gion 498 had a rematch with Ipper-
wash Sargcants Mess for a darts
tournament. The score was Ipper-
-wash 10, Grand Bcnd 9. There was
a great turnout for the Bingo games
at the Legion on Thursday, and
Mary Robinson won_ the 50/50
draw.
Winners of the Friday meat raffle
were John Recvins, Bill Link,
Grace Lautenschlagcr, Betty Martin-
dale and Barbara Clarke, Judy Roane
won the Mystery Prize. On Satur-
day, August 20, the -Legion will
host an Open Dance with live band
music in the upstairs hall, from 9
to 1 a.m. Tickets are available from
the bar steward.
Who is Audrey 11? That is the
question on everyone's lips lately,
particularly after a sneak preview of
the lady (?) in question during, the
. Sandcastle Parade.
Only the technicians at Huron
Country Playhouse know for sure, -
but everyone will know by August
23; In the meantime, Audrey 11(and
her sisters) just kccp mysteriously
growing and taking shape out at the
Playhouse. Come and see "Little
Shop of Horrors" and find out, if
you arc!
Friends of Doug Martin will be .
happy to know that he is now out
of Intensive Care at University
Hospital, and continues to make
progress while a patient there.

GRAND BEND - There was a
good attendance at the Grand Bend
United outdoor church service last
Sunday. Special music was provid-
ed by Karen McKay, "Great Is the
Lord" and "Jesus .is My Corner-
stone", accompanied by Idella Gable
on the organ.
Rev. Teddy Smits sermon was
based on the verse from John 4:29
