The following - brief- resumes were written by Annie Lefevbre of Amos, Quebec and Melanie Phil- lips of Exeter concerning their vis- its to the home of the other. *0* By Annie Lefevbre The first time I heard about SE- VEC was about two years ago on television. The school did not play a big •part in the selection, but my teach- er did the interview and thc princi- pal signed the necessary papers. SEVEC did a great job because I was marvelously twinned with Melanie Phillips. Exctcr is a beau- tiful little town whcrc the new homcs arc modern and beautiful, too. The old homes arc charming. English is easier to speak- than I at first thought. French people spcak quickly and 1 did have some `trouble understrulding 1 did however, improve by coming here. Mclanic's friends arc nice and funny. I recommend the-SEVEC ex- change for all young Canadiap, students who wish to' improve their Frcnch and discover tht we the Quebecois like to meet our neighbours from other provinces. Thank you Melanie and family for a great time. * s. By Melanie Phillips Although it was an 11. hour drive to Amos in Quebec, 1 couldn't wait to meet Annie Lefevbre. We final- ly got there and we both didn't know what to say. We did manage to say "Eli". Living in a French community was hard.
