Church on Sunday Rev. Carter
chose
as her topic
"Congratulations". Next Sunday
Aug,pst 7, church will be held at the
usual time. then the church will
close for the rest of August and
September 5 while Rev. Carter is
on holidays.
Worship will resume September
11 with a special Rally Sunday to
mark the,
beginning •of Sunday
school. The service will begin at
11:30 a.m. (Note change of time) at
which time the new organist Mrs.
Marjorie Johns will begin her du-
ties.
Word was received Saturday of the
death of Lorne Sholdice who passed
away in London. He was a former
resident of the 2nd concession of
Biddulph for many years. He was
pre -deceased by his wife the former
Mary Dobbs (1982) and is survived
by a son and daughter. -
He was buried from Hasketts Fu-
neral Home Monday of St. James
Cemetery, Clandeboye. Sympathy
is extended to the family, also to
the family of the late Rhiney Heck-
man who passed away suddenly at
his home on the weekend.
Visitors during the weekend with
Tom and I were Helen MacDonald,
Mary Davis, Voyle Jordon, all of
Lucan and Howard Dolan of Wat-
ford on Saturday evening and Mr.
and Mr. Luther Morley, Ailsa
Craig. Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Coop-
cr, Exeter on Sunday evening.

CREDITON - A bridal shower
was held at Centralia Community
Centre recently for Barbara Orr,
bride -elect. Relatives, friends and
neighbours gathered and played
euchre after which Barbara opened
her gifts.
Lunch followed. Barbara is get-
ting married September 10.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Regelc, RR
1 Princeton, spent a few days with
the Preszcators at their trailer at
Kettle Point.
Mrs. Lorna Barnes and Jenna and
Ken Wcrnham, RR 1 Thedford, vis-
ited Saturday evening with Mr. and
Mrs. Stan Preszcator. Jenna re-
mained for the night and returned
home Sunday. Stan and I were then
supper guests with them.
Miss Jody Armstrong celebrated
her 14th birthday on Saturday July
30. Her friends Arlene Cottle and
Tri •v Payne helped her celebrate.

been in this neighbourhood for 31
years. It was nice to meet with sev-
eral new neighbours and few of the
old ones.
On July 31 Dcb and Lorne Taylor
were surprised to find out the base-
ball party was a surprise 10th wed-
ding anniversary party for them at
the home of Danny and Shirley
Taylor. •
