Revival
Centre news from Lucan
LUCAN - Tim• Kritzer joyfully
led the song service Sunday morn-
ing. Tony Laughrenc told about the.
youth retreat the Christian Educa-
tion department sponsored over the
weekend. Some of the young peo-
ple presented a skit" of boxes. One
boy asked several how they put God
in a box. First said he and his box
wcrc so bad and active God was not
in it. Next a girl had a box with a
mirror that reflected her view of
God. Next boy said he could not
put God in a box. Next girl said her_
boxheld her treasures. A voice told
them to be quiet. Reading scriptures
the voice rebuked their wrong.atti-
.tude of God except the .boy .who
said his Gid was too big fora box.
In Next skit a girl was promoting
how to change your life, with her
helper collecting fees for each
change. One young man paid for
different changes, from an outdoors
person, to academic, to sportsman,
complete with different outfits each
time; all in an effort to attract girls.
When nothing worked, hc_decidcd _
he had better just be himself.
Pastor Pictcr Schinklcshock,
from Daniel 1, told how the Baby-
lonian -king
abyIonian-king Nechahnezzar, where
the Jewish captives wcrc, had the
best of the Jewish captive youths to
bcttrained for his kingdom work. •
Shinklcshock- talked about the
temptations being brought to
young people to be in with -the in
crowd today. Ile stressed as Chris-
tians we have to stand up for what
we know is right. •
Sunday evening Tim • Kritzer led
the worship service. pastor Pieter
Schinklcshock spoke from Psalms
37:1-9 and 23-29. He said no matter
-how well you raise your children,
you have no guarantee how they
will .turn out. They must make
their own decisions. In Proverbs
22:6 we read to train up a child ,in
the. way it should go.
• Your children will not always bc
good teenagers. There is such peer
pressure in -schools most parents
know little of. Teenagers arc being
brainwashed ;with drugs and music.
Schinklcshock read from Addic-
