Successful fair
ZURICH - The 124th Zurich Fair
was once again a big success. Con-
gratulations to "Tracy Fisher",this
year's Fair Queen. She is* the
daughter of Bob and June Fisher,
Zurich:
Congratulations to all who won
prizes in the baking, crafts and dis-
plays and to the winners of..the
baby contest. (There were 23 entries
altogether.)
The Zurich gymnastic club enter-
tained everyone, in between the
judging of each group, under the di-
rection of their instructor, Jody
I lay.
There was a big tum -out for the
Community Church dinner and -ser-
vice: on Sunday at the arena, and for
the horse show that same day.
All in all it was a fun filled week.

Local children are enjoying going
to playground this summer. In fact -
thcre arc a total of 66 kids taking.
swimming -lessons. at Vanastra go-
ing by bus on Wednesdays and
Thursdays and 35 childrensigned
up for the playground.
Some of the things needed for do-
ing crafts arc: toilet paper rolls,
wax paper, . oil, string, buttons,
popsicle sticks, paper plates, ,egg •
cartons, clothespins, flour,. salt;
straws, milk cartons, jars, maga-
zines,
macaroni, paper, papercups
and material. If anyone has any of
these things please send them to
the arena. They will be having a
bottle drive on Friday, July.29, so
please have them out ready for the
. kids to pick up:
Paperdrive
Just a reminder that it is time
again on Thursday, July 28 forthe
monthly paper drive by the boys
from the .Mennonite church. On
the last paper collection they did so
well they even had to use the Big
Truck from Huron Ridge Acres to
hold everything.
Poultry Show
The Huron County Poultry Club
is hosting a "Lawn Show" for stan-
dard and bantam poultry and pig -
cons on Saturday, August 6 at the
farm of Cliff and Laura Pepper,
R.R. #1, Dashwood. It will run

group attended a conference on
Abundant Life" which was held at
Bingentan Park over the weekend in
Kitchener.
'A' Champs
Recently the ball team of Doug
Geoffrey Construction won the ''A'
championship at a Slo-pitch tourna-
ment held in Exeter (with -many of -
his Zurich relatives playing on the
team). A little party to celebrate
was held at the home of St_evc and
Pati Geoffrey last week.

The family of Ken and Marilyn
Fenwick recently spent a few days
on holidays. in Cambridge. -
Barb O'Connor returned home to
Chicago on Saturday. Now her
twin sister, Anne Bcsozze and son
Steven from San Francisco, Cali-
fornia

Gerry Kane, and going Co sec her
-father Frank who is a patient in
South Huron Hospital, Exeter.
Shower
A nice bridal shower was held at
the home of Cathy Overholt on
Sunday for friends. Bride -elect,
Tammy Bell, Hensall, the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bell and fi-
ancee of Scott Morrison. The wed-
ding date is August 20.

Brent Richard Ingram, infant son
of Richard and Barbara of Hensall,
was baptized on Sunday, July 10 at
St. Boniface Church in Zurich by
Father Hayes.
Kyle Wayne Ozezintc, son of
Jackie and Craig Clausius of Huron
Park was baptised at Immaculate
Heart of Mary Church, Grand Bend,
on Sunday, July 17 by Fr. -Beck.

family get-together was held after-

Joseph and Regina Corrivcau of
Windsor spent a few days last week
visiting with family members in
the Goderich and Zurich arca, and
called on some friends. They stayed
with her mother Mrs. Adcna Srec-
nan, R.R. #2, Zurich, who was
also visited by her other daughter,
Pat from Florida for a couple of
weeks:

council approved Ken Seyler's re-
quest to change the zoning on the
former Morse Tools property from
industrial to highway commercial
to permit the establishment of.a
grocery store in the existing build-
ing.
A 25 percent deposit' will be re-
quired in future on any bookings of
the community centre hall or ice
surface for special' occasions such
as wedding receptions. The money
will be refundable pnly if cancella-
