On Monday -afternoon, Nursing Home residents celebrated our only birthday - Alice Webb. Everyone enjoyed sampling our pumpkin cake. The ladies were very pleased with their efforts. Residents in the Lodge honoured several residents on Thursday even- ing. Celebrating this month were Evelyn Heywood, Charlie Allison, • Elizabeth Doupc, Rita Smith and Mike ,Bourne. Special birthday wishes for the fast week in July go to Mike Bourne and staff members WILSON - MOFFATT Melissa Moffatt, daughter of Gerald end Mary Moffatt, Kippen, and Mi- chael Wilson, -son of Barry -and Ros- alie Wilson,, Clinton, exchanged .marriage vows on July 1, 1988 at Kippen United Church.: with Rev. Stanley MacDonald officiating. The bride was attended 'by her sister Heather Moffatt as maid of honour - and Brenda Adkins and Barbara Dalgliesh, friends of the bride, as bridesmaids. Best man -was Steve Paterson, friend of the groom and ushers .were Steve ,Wilson, brother of the .groom and Darrell Postill, friend of the groom. Flowergirl was. Karan Dalgliesh- and ringbearers were Jonathan and Matthew Trieb- ner. Soloist .was. Bruce .Cookson and organist was Barbara Cooper. The couple are. residing at RR 4 Clinton. • Jean Sharp and Betty MacGregor. Rev. Van Essen of the Bethel Re- formed Church conducted worship services this week. Although we will not be having regular services during the summer, we were pleased to have one service this month. Welcome home to Helen Stock. We arc pleased she is recovering quickly- and are glad to see het home. Get well wishes go out to Car- men Rocszler as he recuperates in hospital from his fall. Everyone misses you! Ladies in the Nursing Home have been enjoying a Beauty Day each week this month. What a treat to have our nails polished and makeup applied. Residents and staff wish good luck to Carla Thompson. Riddell barbecue Aug. 3 EXETER - The very popular Jack Riddell annual family' barbecue, which last year attracted about 1,000 persons, will be held again this year on the Riddell Farm on Wednesday, August 3, starting at 5 p.m. Riddell, who is the MPP for Hu- ron and the Ontario Minister of Ag- riculture and Food, has held the bar- becue on his farm- for four years running. Along with featuring On- tario and locally grown produce, the annual affair also showcases a num- ber of county entertainers. Included in the talent show are .two young peoples'- theatre groups from the Huron Country Playhouse and the Blyth Summer Festival Theatre; the dancing McGee Sisters FORTHCOMING MARRIAGE. - .Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Thompson, Brucefield, are happy to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Carla Joanne to Gary Har- old Deichert, son of Mrs. Doris__ _ Deichert; Zurich. The wedding will take place on Saturday, July 30, 1988 at Brucefield United Church. Open reception to follow in Hensall. from Zurich; Blyth piper Rick Elli- ott; ,and back by popular demand, the "No Notes Jug Band" from Godcrich. Supper is being served from 5 p.m. to 8 .p.m., - while the talent show starts at 6:30 p.m. Cost is only S10 for adults, S4 for elemen- tary school aged children and free to pre-schoolers. Tickets arc available from municipal chairpersons throughout the county, and advance 'purchase is recommended. Last year, a number of Riddell's caucus colleagues visited, including - Premier David Peterson.
