Shelly Skinner was voted MVP for Mites Ford while Donna Overholt took the honour for Geoffrey Construction. Geoffrey Construction donated a por- . tion of their prize money back to Minor Hockey, as did the -Co-op and the -South Huron Hospital team. Grand Bend soccer GRAND BENT) - Squirts lost to F_ucartlast week .when they allowed seven unanswered goals, for a 7-0 game. The Squirts bounced hack this wcck to heat Iidcrton, 9-0. Bryce Kadlecik scored four times, }Irian Tuddrick three, and Leslie Stefano scored twice., Atom goalie Troy Stcllingwcrff has been outstanding in the last fcw games. June 27 Grand Bend • host to Exeter 1 'in a 6-4 game. Simon Dcsjardinc scored, twice. while Tommy Maguire and Chris Duomes scored singles. Grand Bcnd defeated Nairn 5-3 in Nairn July 4. Goalie Stcllingwcrff made a number of fantastic saveS in the first half. Dcsjardinc and Matthew DcJong scored two goals each, with Maguire getting the fifth mark. On July 11, the Grand •Benders trounced Coldstream 8-1. Dcsjardinc worked hard with a five goal performance while DeJong scored two, and Allan Price added a• single. - With a perfect record so far, the ('tuna Bend Ntosquitos have four c+ins and no losses. They beat Nairn 1 6-4 when Ian Jcan, Josh Vcrrnculcn, Philip Karry, Mark F Iutcr, and Mike Stanlakc wcrc the go,rlscorcrs. On July 6, the team heat Bryanston in a 5-2 match. Vcrrnculcn scored three while Ben Kaak and Jeremy Anderson added the two singles. Warren Haist stopped a penalty shot, with good defensive play. Onc highlight in Pee Wee action was the soccer tournament at the an- nual Strathroy Turkcyfcst. Grand Bend lost the first.match 2-0, then beat Nairn 4-0 to win the "B" tro- phy. In league action, the Pee Wccs ticd St. Columban, 2-2. Jeff Lin- - gard and Mark Mollard were the goal scorers. Pee Wccs only loss went to Exeter, in a 2-1 decision. Mollard scored Grand Bend's lone goal. On .luly 5, Grand Bend defeat- ed Fldcrton with a 'shut -mit, 4-0. Lingard scorcdtwo with Steve Van- denberk notching the other two. -
