REPAIR - Bill Towton and Ken Pollock are finding that the
wood trim on the, Hensall Town Hall is not in as poor condition as feared.
The work is keeping the building up to Ontario Heritage standards. Paint-
ing is scheduled to begin soon.

Visitors on Monday with Carl and
I lilda Payne were Miss Muriel Hay-
man of Surrey, England, Mr. and
Mrs. Ross Bcrdan of Union, Mr.
and Mrs. Wayne Payne and Amber-
ly of London, Miss Joan Alexander
of Strathroy and Mrs. Mary Alexan-
der. Miss Hayman has now returned
home to England after a very enjoy-
able visit.
Bruce and Janet Shirray called on
their mother on Sunday. They had
dinncr in Stratford and spent the af-
ternoon sightseeing.
Miss Christina Taylor visited her
daughter and son-in-law Evelyn and
Roger Venner in Bayfield on Sun-
day.
Babe McGregor and cousin Doro-
thy Mason of Clinton attended the
Blyth Playhouse Theatre Saturday
evening.

Fair queen invites
new contestants
ZURICH - 1987 Fair Queen Julie
Consitt invites all girls 16 years or
older to enter the Zurich Queen of
the Fair Contest. Every young lady
in the contest receives a gift in ap-
preciation.
All contestants will be taken to
dinner courtesy of Zurich Agricultu-
ral Society. This contest is a good
learning experience for the girls
who participate.
Julie Consist has,participatcd in
several events this past year.
She attended the Ontario Associa-
tion of Agricultural Soc sties Con-
vention held at the Royal York Ho-
tel in Toronto last February. Shc
met over 100 other fair queens rep-
resenting communities from all
over Ontario. She enjoyed photo
and modelling sessions and fabu-
lous entertainment.
Julie intends to represent Zurich
Fair in August when she partici-
pates in Miss CNE Competition.

Time change
Please note, this year all home -
craft and school entries must be to
the secretary's office at the arena 9
a.m. until 12 noon and must re-
main in the arena until 4:30 p m.
Saturday, July 23.
This change has been made to
case the judges' time and also to
enable those attending the fair on
Friday cvcning to view and enjoy
the exhibits.
There will not be a midway at
the fair, but youth events have
been planned by a new committee.
The penny scramble is popular
with younger children. The "Mini
Tractor Pult".gives kids an oppor-
tunity to compete. The obstacle
_ course is challenging even for
adults.
Near the poultry and sheep ex-
p hibits will be a collection of barn-
yard animals. Children can talk to
the animals, pet them, and feed
them.

HENSALL - Even though it has
hcen a hot week we have all been
keeping quite busy. On Monday af-
ternoon residents had a good work-
out at Fun and Fitness.
On Tuesday morning we wel-
comed Father Hayes to our home
for the first time as he carne to pro-
vide ,Mass for our Catholic resi-
dents. Everyone is looking forward
to his next visit. In the afternoon
Rev. Wright lead our weekly church
scrvicc with Joyce Pcpper as the
volunteer pianist.
On Thursday morning our Ncw
IForizons Committee, "Queensway,
Enterprise" met with the field repre-
sentative to complete the grant ap-
plication. It will take several
months until we hear if we will re-
ceive funding which will be used to-
ward enhancing our activity pro-
grams. Despite everyone's
anxiousness about the grant we will
' just have to be patient. Thursday af-
ternoon several residents gathered
for library time Looking through
Woks and telling stories.
The highlight of Friday was our
manicures with Dorothy Elder in
the afternoon. We certainly appre-
ciate her expertise with manicures.
Everyone is looking forward to
the start of our small group picnics
'on Friday.

will be held at 7:30 p.rn. in the
arena. All Tour churches in Zurich
ac participating with a community
choir. The guest speaker is Dan
Smith from the Christian Blind
