they crushed West Corners
14-3 in Southwestern fastball
action.
It was their first win in
three meetings with the West
Corners team.
West Corners opened up in
the top of the first as Rob
Thoman hit a two run homer.
The Royals evened the
score in the third inning as
John Gillespie walked and
Mike Desjardine and Paul
McKnight singled.
West Corners went ahead
3-2 in the fifth as Amos came
in to score.
The Royals then scored six
runs in the fifth to take a 8-3
lead. Jeff Lindenfield started
it off with a single, John
Gilespie waixea van
Heywood, Mike Desjardine
and Gary Skinner singled and
Paul McKnight tripled.
They added six more runs
in the sixth as Mike Desjar-
dine blasted a long home run,
Gary Skinner walked, Paul
McKnight reached on an er-
ror, Jeff Lindenfield singled,
Brad Marsden reached on an
error and Dave Prout singled.
Mike Desjardine had a
single to rou�td out the inning,
his second tut of the inning.
Brad Marsden went the
distance for the Royals and
picked up the win allowing six
hits while striking out six bat-
ters. Berg took the loss for
West Corners.
The Royals participated in
the Lucan Irish talrrney on the
weekend and played well
despite losing a tough 2-1
game to Stratford who, ended
up as tournament champions.
They opened up Friday
night with a 6-2 win over
Huron House from London
who went on to win the con-
solation trophy while their pit-
cher was tourney most
valuable pitcher.
