In the center was the church with a white HENSALL GRADUATION — The Hensoll Nursery School held its graduation for children who will enter k ndergarten this fall. The large banner at the front of the church along with the child characters done' in pastels around the church brought out the special place children have in the sight of God. Donald Wareing and Bill Stebbins read the scriptures from Matthew and Mark ex- pressing Jesus emphasis on the important place of children. The choir sang -a very rousing anthem "Old Time Religion" which was appreciated by all. During the Award service Barbara Gackstetter, Sunday Church School Superinten- dent presented awards for perfect attendance. Those receiving them were: first year, Cathy Corbett, Jonathan Corbett, Karri Con- sitt, Jamie Campbell, Julie Rooseboom, David Stephens and Jennifer Selwood, Second year; Kari -Lynn Taylor, Jen- nifer McGee, Lisa Campbell, Mary Jane Parsons and Katie Rathwell. Third year awards went to Ryan Kyle, ftichelle Elder, Leann Consitt, Terri -Lynn Elder, Jamie Brock, Kim Scotchmmr, Ryan Stuart, Karri-Sue Kyle, Carrie Stuart and John Rooseboom. Fourth year to 4amie McGee, Jodie McGee, Derick McGee, Jodie. Sararas, Mark Brock, Gordon Hamilton, Tim Brock, Dianne Hamilton. Fifth year to Thomas Scotchmer, Shawn Wurm. Mr. McDonald spoke on the subject "Children are Special - A lit- tle Child Shall Lead Them." Appreciation was express- ed to the teachers of the Sun- day School for the very fine and enthusiastic leadership they are giving. The flowers at the front of the church were in loving memory of Jean Johnson by the family. Next Sunday will be Senior Citizens Sunday when all the senior citizens of the church and community are invited to attend the service and are in- vited to a reception afterward in the Fellowship Hall put on by the students of the Sunday School. Following the service the congregation sang Happy Birthday to Mr. McDonald. - The Communications and BEAUTIFYING THE TOWN — Hensall Horticultural Society president Kathy Mann plants some salvia in a bed at the side of the town hall. The newly organized society is planting flowers throughout the downtown area. Outreach Committee of the United Church met this past week to make plans for the Hensall Fair Float from the church. They also made in- itial plans for the November showing of the film The Cross and The Switchblade starring Erick Estrada and Pat Boone.
