ROUTE 09
Starts at Central (Norman Street - back of school) at
7:50 a.m. to St. Clair S.S. (8:00 a.m.) to Alexander
Mackenzie to Northern and return to St. Clair.
These bus routes will operate as'printed for
the first week. Users will be informed of
needed adjustments at the end of that time.

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
ELEMENTARY
REMEDIAL MATHEMATICS, ENGLISH AND
FRENCH will provide students a further opportunity
to improve their standings in these subject areas. Work
studied will be consistent with that which is taken -
during the regular school,year. -
Locations: Lansdowne, Errol Road (Sarnia), Colborne
(Corunna), Johnston Memorial, Hillcrest (Petrolia),
Forest Central. Locations may change in response to
enrolment.
• REMEDIAL FRENCH, XRF100, .is a special
remedial course designed for students who are new 10
Lambton County and who may not have had French as
a Second Language. Its purpose is to help pupils to
"catch up" to their classmates.
Locaton: Lansdowne
Time: 9:00-11:30 dally 4 weeks
PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND ART will provide
students with an additional opportunity to experience
topics and to further explore skills which were met
during the regular school year.
Locations: Lansdowne, Errol Road (Sarnia), Colborne
(Corunna), Johnston.
Note: If enrolment warrants in certain areas, ad-
ditional school centres may be arranged to accom-
modate pupils.

This course is for elementary school children.- The
course stresses the four skills: reading, writing,
,peaking and listening.

Course Code: TMR100
This course will provide continuity in programming for
pupils at Hanna, St. Clair, Wyoming and New Hope. It
will emphasize life skills, crafts and physical develop-
ment. Any student who presently attends the Trainable
Retarded program Is eligible.

a) New Credit Courses
Students are to register at their own secondary school
before June 15. Adults may register at any secondary
school.
Students should seek guidance from their Student
Services Department before registering in any course.
Students will receive a card indicating place and time
for classes. Keen this card and Present it to the
teacher(s) on the first day of classes.
Late registrations may be accepted on Friday; June 24
but some classes may be filled.
b) Upgrading Courses
Students are to register at St. Clair Secondary School,
Room 107 on Monday, June 27; Tuesday, June 28; or
Wednesday, June 29; between the hours of 9:00 a.m.
and 2:00 p.m.
c) Elementary (Remedial; Other)
Students may register at any elementary school or
may obtain registration forms at the Education Cen-
tre, 200 Wellington Street. A student may select two
subjects.

FEES
• It is the policy of The Lambton County Board of
Education to offer interest (non-credit) courses at no
cost to the Board. Interest courses will be subject to a
fee of $1.25 per instructional hour, as well as a fee to
cover the cost of any supplies consumed during the
course(s). This change is made in response to the
Ministry of Education's withdrawal of funding for in-
terest courses.
• NO fee will be charged for credit upgrading, for new
creditcourses, or for elementary remedial courses.

UPGRADING COURSES:
(For Credit)
Student(s) who wish to upgrade or mask p credit
standing in any subject must have completed the
regular year's course in the subject for which
registration is desired. Otherwise 'eredit' standing
cannot be granted for that course. Classes will be of-
fered in any subject in which there is sufficient
enrolment; pending availability of teaching staff.
Upgrading Courses are open to secondary school
students who wish to upgrade in any subjects that they
have taken in the regular school year. A maximum, of
two subjects may be taken.

Attendance: Due to the brevity and intensity of
New Credit and Upgrading courses,
both punctuality and full attendance

This program is intended for children who are four or
five years old and who will attend Kindergarten in Sep-
tember 1983 or 1984. The child will be exposed to a
variety of activities to develop positive attitudes
towards education and towards life itself. (21/2 hours
daily for 4 weeks)

CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES (Sarnia, Corunna)

Unstructured activities for Primary aged children
(five to eight years old). The activities would include:
art, music, crafts, reading, puppets, games and plays.
Learning as individuals, the students would be able to
participate in activities of their choice within an open

K.I.S.T. - KIDS IN SUMMER THEATRE

of theatre. During the first 2 weeks of the program, the
students meet, choose and develop a play, playlets or
scenes. After they have put together their "show",
they will perform it at various community happenings.

To introduce to the beginner the most suitable in-
strument and provide the foundation that is necessary
to play that instrument. Subject areas are: Note
Reading, Performing, Composition and Listening.

Holding; Treble and Bass Clefs; Rhythms; Key
Signatures; 'Scales; Breathing; Tone Production;, Ar-

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC - JAZZ

To understand creative improvisation through prac-
tical and theoretical applications. Designed to free the
student from the restrictions of the Instrument
resulting in a more mature and confident player. Sub=

formance. Course content includes: Chord Scales,
Modes, Chord Substitutes; Melody Design; Tension

An introduction to the basic theory and practicein the
use of hand and machine tools. Most students will

COMPUTER PROGRAMMING COURSE
Course Code: ICP100 (New)
This course is designed for students interested in lear-
ning to use Microcomputers and Basic Language, input,
output looping and testing. Extensive use of TRSBO's
computer units. ThiS course will be most suited for
students 11-13 years of age. (2 hours daily for 4 weeks).

DRIVER EDUCATION
Course Code: IDR 100
This will be the same popular course as offered
through the year. Students will get 6 hours in the car
and 23 hours classroom instruction (as per Department
of Transportation Regulations). The cost of the course
will be 1110.00 per student. Classes will run Mondays
and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. In -car
instructional hours will be arranged with the instruc-
tor. Driving students require a temporary driving
permit prior to the start of classes. (6 weeks)

TYPING -BEGINNERS
Course Code: ITY100
Tired of writing out those term papers and assignmen-
ts by hand? Do people have a hard time reading your
handwriting? Do you want to acquire a skill that will
help you through high school and university? If you

Beginner's Typing is for you. (2 hours daily for 4

BASKETBALL

This course will include both instructional and
recreational time, for students from 9-12 years of age.

This course is designed to increase muscular and car-
dial repiratory endurance. 11 involves the weight
training machine and the track. Pre-test, mid -test ad
post-test are used to determine the physical progress
made. (2 hours daily for 3 weeks).

TRACK AND FIELD
Course Code: ITF100
Learn more about Track and Field. (Get the 'Racer's
Edge".) This course is designed for students of ages 9-
14 years. Students will learn and practise track and
field events such as sprints, middle distance, high'
jump, hurdles, discus, javelin, etc. The drills are in-
tended to develop skills, strength, endurance, and co-
ordination for this age level. Students may earn the
right to compete in a track and field event in July, as
well as other competitions with the Sarnia Track and
Field Club. (2 hours daily for 3 weeks, Northern)

GOLF FUNDAMENTALS

This course in basic golf fundamentals will be offered
during the month of July. Expert individual teaching
will be available. Adults are most welcome. This cour- -
se will be offered at St. Clair Secondary School, if

OROWNPROOFING ANQ LEARN TO SWIM
Course Code: I PL100
Gain confidence in your ability to save your life. This
• course will provide instruction in water safety, drown -
proofing and basic swim instruction. The indootapool at
Sarnia Collegiate (S.C.I.S.T.S.) will be used. (1 hour
daily for 4 weeks).

RIDING INSTRUCTION - ENGLISH AND WESTERN

This course code is designed for the horse enthusiast. It
covers all aspects of riding and care of horses and
equipment. Learn how to groom, tack and ride a horse.
