C.W.L. meeting The Rosary was recited before the Mass for vocations last Tuesday evening. Forty- one members attended the C.W.L. meeting afterwards along with the director, Fr. Mooney. The C.W.L. will send $135 to the Vita Way Farm in North Bay, a place that helps young people in trouble. The two delegates to the re- cent convention in Windsor were Marie Gelinas and Bridget Groot, with the latter giving a very interesting report. Plans are being made for a chicken barbecue on Sunday July 3. Tickets will be available soon, $5.00 for adults and $2.50 for those under 12. A donation of $25.00 will be given to the St. Boniface stu- dent council for their help in setting up the gym for our meetings every month. On Friday evening May 27 a get- together will be held for those who made the last two parish renewal weekends. Last Monday 17 members attended the Lions Club din- ner and meeting at the Domi- nion Tavern. Final plans are being made for the Lions Club's first Slo-Pitch Tourna- ment being held this weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sun- day, May 27-29 in Zurich. There will be 16 teams par- ticipating from various Lions clubs in the area. Come out and cheer for your home team Congratulations to Mike and Lori Masse, Henson, on the arrival of their first baby, a girl, who was born Sat. May 21. Grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Clare Masse and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Masse are all of Zurich area. Best wishes for a speedy recovery are extended to former area resident George Bedard, now of Goderich, who is a patient in Alexandra Marine and General Hospital. Paul and Marie Cyr are happy to announce the arrival of their second grandchild, a little boy born to David and Carol Cyr, RR 3 Ailsa Craig on May 21. Holiday weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cyr and Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Cyr were Joe and Marie Quillen, Ottawa, Jerry and Cora Folks, Timmins, and Mrs. Florence Cyr, Ajax. Therese Stark and Bern Denomme spent the weekend with their sister, a nun, Sister Pierre Bedard in Pittsburgh, Penn. Richard and Janet Regier and children Laura and Ivan of Calgary are visiting for a couple of weeks with their parents Lee and Rose Regier and Morris and Kay Webb and . other relatives One hundred and thirty members of the family of Mrs. Theresa Hartman (children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters and brothers), helped her to celebrate her 75th birthday on Saturday which began with a Mass offered by her nephew Fr. Larry Ducharme of Detroit at St. Boniface Church followed by a supper in the school gym. Emiline Masse, London, spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Adeline Denomy. Michael and Yvonne Hart- man, Montreal, spent Satur- day to Monday in town with Mrs. Juliette Denomme and attended his mothers birth- day party on Saturday. A lovely wedding shower was held for Rhonda Denomme of Kitchener on Sunday, at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. Florence Denomme, Zurich. Other hostesses were her aunts, Gail DeBus and Dolores Stan- ton for several relatives. Rhonda received many beautiful gifts. The wedding will take place in Kitchener on June 11. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Geof- frey and family from St. Catharines and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Vanos and children of Markham were weekend visitors with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Geof- frey along with Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Geoffrey and family of Tillsonburg who came on Sunday. Carol Sreenan and children of Detroit, Mich. spent the weekend with her mother Mrs. Adena Sreenan on the Blue -Water. Harold and Doreen Dietrich spent the long weekend at the Wheels Motor Inn, Chatham. Mr. and Mrs. Mozart Gelinas Sr. spent Sunday and Monday in Detroit Mich. where they attended her 47th class reunion and stayed with Mrs. Kay Sweeney. The lucky winners of the Knights of Columbus draw last Thursday were Kim McKinnon $150.00 and $25.00 went to Yvonnie Overholt, both of Zurich. IRVIN RADER Dashwood seniors met Monday, May 16 with 28 members and one .guest answering the roll call. Presi- dent, Mrs. Eben Weigand presided for the business. One get well and two sympathy cards were sent. Mrs. Weigand reported on the Zone Rally held in Exeter. No delegate was elected to go to USCO in Windsor August 8. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Weigand, Mrs. Margaret Carroll and Mrs. Aldeen Wolfe were ap- pointed to be in charge bf the Friedsburg Days float with the theme "Your Favourite Food Fantasy." They decided to send one car load to the Vanastra Recreational centre to attend a seniors' card social June 21. The annual picnic will be held June 20. Mrs. Weigand gave a reading "I'm Fine I'm Fine." Mrs. Oscar Miller's group was in charge of the program. Mrs. Ross Love told several jokes and led in a sing song. Mrs. Emil Becker read two poems "Simplicity" and "Bed and Bored." An antique name quilt was on display and several members chose names from the quilt and told stories of interest about these people. Cards and lunch brought the evening to a close. The funeral of the late Reihold Miller was held at Zion Lutheran Church Mon- day with Rev. M. Mellecke presiding. Pallbearers were six nephews, Ross, Delmar. Arthur, Ernest and Lorne Miller and Andy Anderson. Mrs. Chris Olson and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Miller were Friday evening guests with Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Miller. ORDINATION Robert Doerr received his Master of Divinity degree from Huron College, Univer- sity of Western Ontario, April 28. He was ordained as Deacon of the Anglican Church at St. Pauls Cathedral, London, May 12 and will serve as curate at the Church of the Ascension, Windsor. Robert received his educa- tion from Zurich Public School; South Huron District High School, Exeter: Wilfred Laurier University, Waterloo and Western University, London. He is the son of Mr. and Mr;.
