welcomed members and in
particular, Rose Atkinson,
who has been on the sick list
for several weeks, to the
meeting of the Sunshine and
Busy Buddies groups, Thurs-
day afternoon. Members sang

"The Villa", a rest home for
seniors, in the former Dr.
Patterson home.
Mr. Nieuwland told of his
background experience with
the former Chateau Gardens
Inc. and informed the
members just what his ideas
were in connection with "The
Villa". He will follow, as
closely as possible, the pro-
grams used in rest homes in
Holland, his native country,
and also that of his wife, who
will run a "Esthetician
Clinic" (skin care) in the
former office.
A home of this type is much
needed in this community and
the Nieuwlands are wished
much success in their ven-

ing service leading in respon
sive reading of Ephesians
6:11-18. Visiting from London
Mrs. Ada Hall played "Take
it to the Lord in Prayer" on
the organ.
Rev. C.J., Williams
ministered from Ephesians
4:7 and 12-16 concerning
spiritual perfection. God ex-
pects us to grow into perfec-
tion, to be different as Chris-
tians. Christians do not take
their instructions from the
world, but from God, our
Master. Our perfection is not
in the carnal realm. Salvation
is just the beginning of our
spiritual walk.
Mrs. Judi Ross welcomed
everyone Sunday evening to
the Mission's Service. Mrs.
Ross read Romans 10:9-15,
then led chorus singing.
With Mrs. Carol Butler
playing the piano, Mrs. Ross
led the Children's Church in
singing new choruses. With
the children sitting on their
chairs on the platform, Mrs.
Ross led the congregation in
reading Ephesians 6:10-18.
From this reading the
children told what each piece
of the Christian's armor is
for.
Mrs. Ross led with actions
showing the meaning of 1
John 4:4. Miss Kathy Kilby,
using a Missionary map,
showed where the
Pentecostal Holiness mis-
sionaries are in the world.
Mrs. Ross conducted a Bible
Sword drill with the con-
gregation taking part.
While some of the children
narrated, Miss Kilby showed'
slides of the work Rev. and
Mrs. Ray Brewster are doing
in Haiti. There are schools
where the Brewsters provide
one meal a day of rice and
beans for the children. Some
of the churches are brush ar-
bors. There is a Christian
clinic to help sick Haitians.
They are building a church
and a school.

Rev. Hofland, in his ser-
mon, told us that this Sunday
marks an interlude in time
(The Ascension) and a state
of w4iting on God's Holy
Spirit ( Pentecost) . The
original feelings of anxiety
and insecurity felt by those
who experienced this time of
Jesus' withdrawal from them
are still with us in the church
today - will the community
survive? How can we carry
on?
An hour of fellowship,
refreshments, and a time to
visit with Rev. Hofland, was
enjoyed following the service.
