TYKES START
Exeter Tykes I opened their
1983 baseball season with a
pair of convincing victories
over Dashwood and Clinton.
Thursday in Exeter the
home squad pounded out a
28-9 win over a young
Dashwood team. Mark
Russell, David Dalrymple,
Scott Bishop and Jamie
Bedard all homered while
Harlen Finney, Alan Blom-
maert and Mark Burton
shared the mound duties.
In Clinton, Saturday
Dalrymple and Tinney each
homered and Brett Borden
picked up five hits as the
locals ran up a 38-2 score.
Tinney, Blommaert and
Mark Russell allowed the op-
position only four hits while
striking out 15 and walking
only three.
For the first time Exeter
will be represented in WOAA
by two tyke teams. Team I is
coached by Tom McCann,
Dan Brintnell and Aubrey
Bedard and team II is being
coached by Dennis Bierling
and Don Heywood. They will

By Lynne. Farquhar
A lot of interest has been
shown in forming a mens'
recreational ball hockey
league since our first annual
tournament was held a couple
of weeks ago at the Rec Cen-

scheduled to run on Sunday

We already have three en-
tries for the league but we'd
like another three teams. Any
teams interested in entering
should send a couple of
representatives to a meeting

7:30 p.m. at the Rec Centre.
Anyone interested in playing
who isn't on a team should
also attend.
We are still working on
mens' slo-pitch for Sunday

team. Any guys out there
wanting to play slo-pitch
