Thursday in Exeter the home squad pounded out a 28-9 win over a young Dashwood team. Mark Russell, David Dalrymple, Scott Bishop and Jamie Bedard all homered while Harlen Finney, Alan Blom- maert and Mark Burton shared the mound duties. In Clinton, Saturday Dalrymple and Tinney each homered and Brett Borden picked up five hits as the locals ran up a 38-2 score. Tinney, Blommaert and Mark Russell allowed the op- position only four hits while striking out 15 and walking only three. For the first time Exeter will be represented in WOAA by two tyke teams. Team I is coached by Tom McCann, Dan Brintnell and Aubrey Bedard and team II is being coached by Dennis Bierling and Don Heywood. They will face teams from Dashwood, Seaforth and Clinton. Farquhar A lot of interest has been shown in forming a mens' recreational ball hockey league since our first annual tournament was held a couple of weeks ago at the Rec Cen- tre. The league is tentatively scheduled to run on Sunday afternoons. We already have three en- tries for the league but we'd like another three teams. Any teams interested in entering should send a couple of representatives to a meeting to be held Tuesday, May 24, at 7:30 p.m. at the Rec Centre. Anyone interested in playing who isn't on a team should also attend. We are still working on mens' slo-pitch for Sunday nights and are tentatively set to get going on Sunday, May 29 but we'd like to get a fourth team. Any guys out there wanting to play slo-pitch should call the Rec Centre as soon as possible. We are holding an organizational meeting Tuesday, May 24 at 7 p.m. at the Rec Centre. If in- terested, please attend. Evening tennis lessons started Tuesday night at the courts with a full class runn- ing from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., however we have had no response for our afternoon class so far. We are extending our deadline for daytime lessons until next Tuesday so lessons will start on May 24 if we get enough. Anyone wishing to sign up for after- noon tennis should contact the Rec Centre at 235-2833. We need 10 people toeg t the after- noon class going. Lessons are $12.00 per person for •10 one hour lessons running Tuesdays and Thursdays for five weeks. Tennis court memberships are on sale at the Rec Centre for $20.00 (single) or $25 (family) for the season. In- cluded in this fee is a $5 deposit which will be return- ed when the key is handed back to the Rec Centre. Any non-members wishing to use the courts must pick up a key from the Rec Centre office in the daytime or from the Con- cession Booth in the evening. T -A photo. ing offered at Ironwood golf. course starting Monday, May 30 at 6 p.m. The lessons will be taught by the Ironwood Mens' Club and are at the very reasonable price of $2.50 for six weeks. Five weeks will be instruction and on the sixth night the youngsters will be able to try out their skills on a round of golf. Lessons are for youngsters 14 and under. Sign up at the Rec Centre.
