Rebekahs honor dlstrict official at banquet; hear report of area mooting
Pride of Huron Rebekah
lodge honoured District Depu-
ty President Alice Bowen at a
banquet served at the Exeter
United Church Wednesday
night. Warden Sister Marie
Broom introduced the head
table and 78 were in atten-
dance, returning. to the
lodgehall for the remainder of
the evening.
Noble Grand Audrey Rowe
w and Vice Grand Barb Whiting
presided through the meeting.
Cheryl Edwards, Junior Past
Noble Grand introduced
District Deputy President
Alice Bowen. Cheryl remind-
ed everyo:ie blab there will be
an Euchre party :•1 the
lodgehall on April 27 at 8:00.
Everyone is welcome.
Friendship night will be
held May 4. Each sister w ll
ask a Rebekah friend to join
them for the evening. This
will bean excellent chance for
sisters to invite sisters from
out of town for a good evening
of fellowship.
Vice Grand Barb Whiting
reported that the visiting
committee had sent a sym-
pathy card to Sister Olive
Ostland and no one had been
sick in the past two weeks.

reported on the dinner served
to the Past Grands'. District
Meeting. Sixty-five members
were served.
Pride of Iluron represen-
tative Marj Arthur, P.G. gave
an explicit report of the
district meeting held last
Wednesday. Members were
also invited to Seaforth lodge
Mon.lay April 25 for the
District Deputy Presidents'
official visit and on May 3 .
members are invited to Ruth
Rebekah Lodge, Stratford for
their 86th birthday party.
Brothers and sisters are
also invited to Brussels
Lodge's 50th anniversary par-
ty. A beef dinner will be serv-
ed at 6:30, $7.00 per person.
Anyone wishing to go contact
Sister Audrey.
The Canadian Memorial
Committee will have the
Wreath Laying Ceremony in -
Ottawa June 5. A workshop
will be held promoting
membership for the order. All
meetings will be held at the
Chateau Laurier.
Exeter Oddfellows invited
all sisters of Pride of Huron to
the annual church service at
the Exeter United Sunday.
April 24.
F'riday. - September 23
sisters will serve meals to the
Exeter Fair Board. All
volunteers will be
appreciated.
