RENA CALDWELL Kipper Kippen East Women's In- stitute held their annual meeting in Exeter. al the home of president Mrs. Grace Drummond, Festivities began with a sumptuous pot luck dinner. Institute Grace was sung and guests were introduced. Guests were present from. England, the District Presi- dent, Mrs. Gordon Papple, • Jean Young, Director of Home Makers from Head of- fice in Wingham, Lauretta Siegner, Director of home Makers representing Exeter. Mrs. James Chalmers. in- troduced guest speaker Jean Young, Teeswater, Director of Home Makers in Huron County. She showed pictures showing the help given to the ,old and handicapped in their own homes and was thanked by Mrs. Robert Kinsman: Annual reports were presented by treasurer Mrs. Vern Alderdice. the P.R.O. Mrs. Stewart Pepper. Mrs. Robert Kinsman, Mrs. Alex McGregor, Mrs. Campbell Eyre. Mrs. Harold Parsons secretary Mrs. • Grant MacLean and president Mrs. Grace Drummond and the auditors. Mrs. Al Hoggarth, district director reported on the last board meeting. Mrs. Gordon Papple spoke briefly and thanked the ladies for herpleasant evening. Mothers and friends were invited as guests at our party. We had prepared games for part of the evening and members had prepared food for the party from various countries. ' Seventh meeting of the Kip - pen Kontinental Kooker's was held at the home of Linda Roberts April 21. Meeting opened with the,411 pledge and members theanswered the roll call. Books were ex- amined, blanks filled in and foods from each country highlighted. Topic for the Skit "Celebrating the Multicultural Way" was discussed. Lunch was served and the meeting adjourned. Mrs. Ashard and her daughter Janet from England are visiting the Iloggarths. Brucefield United Church . Youth (;roup The Brucefield United Church Yough Group held its re -organized meeting, April 18. Before the official meeting such activities as picnic table making and ceramic pictures was enjoyed by all. This was then followed by the election of officers: presi- dent Monica Spaziale, vice president Jerry MCBeath, recording secretary Mary Jane Parson, and David Moffat. Rev. TOM KOOY A euchre party was held in the community centre Tues- day evening with 12 tables playing. It was convened by Percy and Jean Noels and Tom and Mary Kooy. Prize winners were: ladies high. Joyce Willett lone hands, Lydia Regier; low, Kathlene Neil; man's high. Harry Noels; lone hands. Larence Hirtzel and low, Bill Lamport with a special prize going to Marian Thompson. The next euchre will be Mon- day May 2. A very enjoyable evening was held in the Community Centre Friday evening when the' men of Faith Tabernacle congregation catered to a mother and daughter banquet to a large crowd of daughters, mothers and grandmothers. The sympathy of the com- munity is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Wilson and Donna in the death of Doug's mother, the late Mrs. Verda Wilson of Exeter, Mrs. Wilson was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom Boyce of this village. Miss Nancy Turner, Toron- to spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Riley attended open house, Satur- day in Goderich when Doug's parents celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.
