TEMPLEMAN Staffa Women's Institute hosted a dessert euchre on St. Patrick's Day with several neighbouring Institutes, 4-11 leaders, .4-H members' mothers and ladies of. the community as guests. Over sixty ladies were in attendance. Prize winners were, Mrs. R. Stephens, Kirkton, Mrs. C. Babb, Carlingford; Mrs. E. Shute.Kirkton; Mrs. G. Klein, Mitchell; Mrs. F. Maddock, Kirkton; Mrs. V. During business members were reminded of the invita- • tion from the W.M.S. to meet with them on Good Friday for a pot -luck dinner and meeting. The Marion Ritchie will host the Spring Con- ference the last week in June. A motion was made to cater to a wedding reception in May. Blocks were handed in for the afghans for Ewart Col- lege. Alice closed the meeting with prayer., Personals Mrs. Lloyd Miller and Mrs. John Templeman attended the Perth South District Ex- ecutive meeting at Motherwell. Mr. and Mrs. Rob Templeman Carrah and Cain. visited on the weekend with Dr. Jane Robinson and Miss Carol Stewart, Hamilton. RENA CALDWELL Pledge and roll call started the 4-H meeting March 22 at Vanastra Curling Club. Members discussed plans for Achievement Day and the party. Kitchen was filled with members making an An- tipasta from Italy, middle Eastern Stuffed Vegetable from Armenia, Applie pie from Greece and Minestrone Soup from Italy. Members then learned about different kinds of pastas, herbs and cheeses. Crystal Jones visited recently with her grand- parents Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jones. Mrs. Edgar McBride has moved from the village to Brucefield. Mrs. Robert Bell has returned from St. Joseph's Hospital, London. Fourth meeting of Kippen I 4-H Club was held March 23 at the home of Diane Chalmers. The name of the club was changed to the Kippen Kon- tinental Kookers and the cover_ design of Diane Chalmers was chosen. Dates for the meetings were discussed, fifth meeting March 30 at Hoggarth's and the multicultural party at Binnendyk's, April 2. Each member was given an invita- tion so that they could invite a friend to the party. Plans for the Achievement Day skit will be made at Lin- da Robert's home April 21. Books are due to be handed in. to the leaders on April 23. May 2 is Achievement Day. Book work was completed including discussions about foods from the following coun- tries - Greece,ttaly. Bulgaria. Romania and Yugoslavia. Italian Antipasta was prepared and sampled as well as' middle Eastern stuffed vegetables, apple pie Greek style and mint tea from Mid- dle East. Centralia man celebrates 85th Sy MRS. TOM KOOY . At a recent pot luck dinner at the community centre. Steve Molnar was the guest of honour when he celebrated his 85th birthday. - A large cake was served and Happy Birthday was sung by his friends. Master Ben Riley spent a few days this past week holidaying with his grand- parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Riley, Goderich, " returning home with his parents Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hirtzel attended a dinner Sun- day in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Clark, who -were celebrating their 35th wed- ding anniversary at the home of Mr. and 'Mrs. Bev Hirtzel. and family in Lucan. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Kooy, Bonnie and Clyde were Sun- day evening dinner guests with Clayton's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Kooy, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Noels, Exeter and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Heywood, Crediton attended the Oddfellows banquet and dance in the Forest Legion, Saturday evening.
