culate a resolution in an at-
tempt to get assistance from
the provincial government to
reimburse municipalities for
Lost taxation due to the reduc-
tion in the assessment being
granted to homeowners who
have used urea formaldahyde
foam insulation.
It has been anticipated that
the reduction in assessment
will result in a Loss of about
$5,000 in tax dollars for the
town's coffers this year.
While the federal govern-
ment encouraged the use of
the now banned insulation,
the resolution notes that it is
through the province that the
asses:;ment reduction is being

assumed reduction in market
value".
The town wants the pro-
vince to introduce a program
of assistance for
municipalities which Aire af-
fected by reductions in
assessment and hence tax
revenue.
The resolution is being sent
to the Acssbciation of
Municipalities of Ontario as
well as all area MPs and
MPPs, county council, coun-
ty school board, the Prime
Minister and Ontario Premier
as well as the leaders of the
federal and provincial opposi-
ion parties.
