About the early days Cleve according to Gingerich and
Gingerich reminisces, "We since specializing in tractors

CO FOUNDERS — Margaret and Cleve *Gingerich,
founders of CG Farm Supply some 20 years ago are
shown here with a model of one of the Case tractors
they sell. The firm started by the Zurich area couple
has grown into an operation comprising 11 employees.
Asked about business in
1982, the CG owner said; ''It
was better than the year
before and this year is star-
ting off like a house on fire.
We sold more tractors in
January than the same period
in any previous year.'
He credits the Case interest...
rate of 8.8 percent for the
great increase in sales. It ap-
plies to new and used
machinery and added, "We
are down to six new tractors
in stock. Sometimes we have
as many as 15 on hand."
Gingerich praised the Case
company saying, "They are
super." Aside to his wife,
Margaret, "How long is it
since we ordered machiney?
They just keep bringing it
:Jong."
• Gingerich continued, "In
the early days,. I never
thought we would sell 70
horsepower tractors. Now the
average is from 100 to 160 h.p.
and up to a 300 h.p. machine
that pulls an eight furrow
plow or a 52 foot cultivator.
Three mechanics are -.
employed by CG Farm Supp-
ly. They are Cleve and
Margaret's sons Cliff and
Rick Gingerich and a cousin
Ken Gingerich who has been
with the company for 16
years.
-Rick and Ken are diesel and
air conditioning mechanics
while Cliff specializes on in-
dustrial machinery. All
inechanics have taken yearly
courses at Case headquarters
in Racine, Wisconsin since the
Zurich area company was
established. •
The parts manager is son-in-
law Dennis Estep and
salesmen are Henry Martens
and Paul Steckle. The latter
who is the reeve of Stanley
township has been with CG
for eight years.
Marlene Estep and Delores
Gingerich are part-time office
staff in addition to Margaret
and a daughter Charlotte is a
part-time employee as, a
cleaner.
READY TO GO — Despite the present winter weather these Case tractors on the
CG Farm Supply lot are raring to go for spring farm work.
