Beginning with the next Leche League being held in band, but my family comes
first. At the beginning, when
they first needed me and I
them, there was no com-
primises; State had to wait
upon mother. And if in my
free time, I had to work a lit-
tle harder to make up, that
work became a pleasure for
the sake of the newborn."

Leche League in Huron Coun-
ty south will be holding their
regular series on the last
Thursday of each month. This
is a major change for the
group since its start over five
years ago. Hopefully readers
ill mention this date change

LLL meeting.
Nell DeJonge, 260 Churchill

her home for the next series.
February, March and April's

morning at 9:30 a.m. As with
all LLL functions, small
children and of course nurs-
ing babies are always
welcome to comealong with
mother.
Last month a large gather-

about La Leche Legue and the
criteria for becoming a
leader. It was also an occa-
sion to say goodbye to league
mother Kathy McMahon, who

1983 will see the ninth inter-
national conference of the La
Kansas City. Princess Grace
of Monaco was the,, first
celebrity to publicly support
La Leche League and she
generously gave of her time
when breastfeeding was not a
popular role to support.
Her strong belief in the nur-
turing role of breastfeeding
and the importance of close
family ties echoes the
philosophy of La Leche
League. When she spoke at
the 1971\cnference she
brought oo important
messages to the members:
"As women, it is one of our
greatest prides that we have
in our bodies, to give to our
newborns, every element that
an infant needs. for perfect
health and growth.
The frantic life of today has
swept up women to the point
where ejther because of dif-
ficulties imposed by over-
crowding, the necessity to
hold down jobs, or even their
own lack of inclination, they
feel that there is not time for
