terested people met at the Ac-
tivity Centre on Friday even-
ing to see "Summer's edge,
Hawaii, and a walk in the
forest" presented by the Ac-
tivity Centre committee. Tea
and cookies were served.
Three more films will be
shown in February.
Plan to attend the euchre
January 31, Monday after-
noon, at the Activity Centre.
Seven tables of euchre were
at play at the Craig Masonic
hall Wednesday evening,
more euchre there. on
February 2. ,
Riverview - Women's In-
stitute will resume
its regular meeting, February
1 (after one slack month)
when Barbara Nicholson will
speak on "protection of wild
animals". Members and
friends are most welcome.

Staffa.
The remainder of the after-
noon was spent quilting.

noon. This was a quilting ses-
sion. While the ladies were
busy the men enjoyed cards
and other games. During the

Mrs. Eben Weigand read a
poem, "New Beginnings."
The card secretary reported
sending two over -ninety birth-
day cards, two sympathy and
five get well cards.
Mrs. Mike Doyle spoke on
her trip to the province of
Quebec in July. Any group in-
terested in hearing her may
call 236-4088.
Mrs. Hilda Rader's group is
in charge of the February
meeting. The Mt. Carmel
C.W.L. ladies will provide the
April program with other
Seniors groups guests.

quilting followed by a pot luck

Kippen Institute
entertains seniors

Mrs. Robert Bell and Mrs.
Alex McGregor were
hostesses when Kippen East
W.I. entertained the senior
citizens to dinner in Hensall
Presbyterian Church,
January 19. After dinner,
Mrs. Stewart Pepper con-
ducted a contest while the In-
stitute' members cleaned up
the dishes. _
Mrs. Drummond conducted
the meeting. Mrs. Mary
Broadfoot was pianist. Mrs.
Drummond made the guests
and members welcome and
read, "People are younger
than they used to be."
Mrs. Robert Bell was
secretary for the meeting as
Mrs. Grant MacLean was
unable to be present. Roll call
was answered by naming "A
world figure that you ad-
mire." No one mentioned our
Prime Minister.
Mrs. Robert Bell introduc-
ed the guest speaker Gordon
Wright, Seaforth who gave a
wonderful presentation in pic-
tures of his trip to- London,
England at the time of the
Royal Wedding.
- He took his audience on a
walk around London and to
the Wedding as well as the
history involved. He was
thanked by Mrs. Ernest
Whitehouse.
An appreciative letter of
thanks from Julie Wright for
a gift was read. Quilting will
commence early on January
27 at Grace Drummond's.
