Messengers plan meeting
By MRS. WILLIAM'ROHDE
Thames Road
Rev. Robert Matheson was
in charge of the regular
church service, Sunday.
The children's story was en-
titled "He Will Not Shout."
Robert Bray sang a solo
"Come and Dine" which was
well done.
. The sermon was entitled
"God's Son and Our Flight."
The facttihat od sent His Son
into the worm tells us God is
aware of alf'aspects of human
existence. Jesus was .God's
gift -,no strings attached to
the world - an undeserving
world.
When Jesus was recognized
as the Christ, by Peter, he
starts to warn Ilig followers he
is going td suffer at the hands
of the powers' f the world.
Jesus' life stfry is an amaz-
ing one. He allows the world-
ly powers to put him to death.
He then 'overcomes the
powers of the world by over-
ooming death itself.
. Since Ave so recently
celebrated Christmas we
ought to remember that Jesus
i - is God's gift to.the world. Will
the world really be prepared --
• to receive Him?
By being willing to -suffer,
Jesus allowed Himself to be
identifiewith those, others
who Buff r - those the world
ignores. esus is allied With
those illigitimate govern-
ments in power in many na-
tions hiding in the night never
