The study was presented by
Mrs. Britton. She spoke about
"The Southern Pacific
Islands". She said the United
„Church had brought four
ministers recently from these
islands to Canada to inform
us about their Christian way
of life and their people. As far
back as the 17 century mis-
sionaries had been sent to
help these people and now 80
percent o; their people are
true Christians.
This has come about by
their people who had become
Christians going out to help
others to become Christians
too. She said we can tear:'
many things from them and
They from us. She also spoke
of the United States, France
and Japan testing nuclear
cruise missiles there and
their people are very upset as
this has been destroying their
fish, which is their only
source of protein. They want
their independence, peace
and justice.
A social hour followed with
lunch served by Mrs. Evelyn ,
Flynn, Mrs. Hazel Luther and
Mrs. Susan Purdy
