Christmas draw at Don's
Food Store in Zurich on
December 24 were Clare
Regier, a turkey; food
hampers to Von Overholt, Joe
Becker, Blanche Overholt
and Theresa Baarrda of Ex-
eter. A cake server and two
Christmas cakes were won by
Teresa Bedard and a mirror
went to Frances Kipfer.
Diane Klopp, returned
home on New Year's Day to
Edmonton after a delightful
two-week visit with family
friends and relatives.
The family of Mr. and Mrs.
Earl Flaxbard held
Christmas at their home on
Boxing Day with guests com-
ing from London, Kitchener
and Ingersoll.
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Eckel
spent solve of the holidays up
north at their cottage hoping
to find some snow for
snowmobiling.
The youth group at St.
Peter's Lutheran Church
hosted a lovely turkey dinner
for the senior citizens of their
parish during the holidays.
Approximately 40 attended.

thusiast. The days are slowly
lengthening, and all in all,
things seem to be on the
upgrade. Januaryis always a
long, quiet month, after all
the holiday festivities.

to come in and entertain the
residents during the after-
noon or evening. Perhaps you
could call the office and we
would reserve a time suitable
to both parties.

Mervyn and Margaret Hayter
entertained Marg's mother,
Mrs. Mabel Glenn of Zurich,
and brothers Bruce, his wife
Jessie and boys of, Toronto,
and Gerald and Ardys of Hen-
sall and their son Randall of
Windsor.
Pete Postill has been con-
fined to St. Joseph's Ilospital
.for the past two and a half
weeks following surgery,
The Consitt family held
their Christmas gathering in
Varna hall on Christmas Day.

Corriveau of the Maple Woods
Apartments had a get-
together on Sunday January
2 with a delicious roast beef
supper catered fly Mrs.
Howard Finkbeiner in the
Common Room. It was
especially nice to see her son
Fr: John Corriveau being able
to attend and spend a few
days before leaving for
Texas.
Marc and Cindy Gelinas
and two children, London,
spent Friday and Saturday
with friends, Pat and Jane
Bedard and family and were
among several who had a
good time at the New Year's
Eve dance at the arena,
which was a big success.

Quenneville of Detroit,
Michigan spent New Year's
weekend with her sister and
brother-in-law, Alida and An-
drew Rau, while Jim and
Laura Turner of Detroit
stayed with relatives,
Alphonse and Betty Grenier
in Hensall.

Clinton on Christmas Day. On
Sunday, the Evans family,
which includes Pat and Barry
Taylor and Barb and Tom
Consitt and their families,
gathered at the home of Bev
and Herb Brenneman at
Petersburg.
Guests with Charles and -
Bernice Reid on 'Christmas
Day were Rev. Wilena •
Brown, Mrs. Belle Reid, Bill
and Mary Reid, Doug, Peggy
and Meggin, and Charlene.
On Monday, they entertained
the members of the Blake
family.
Bill and Mary Chessell's
family arrived home on
Christmas Day, some of them
staying for the'weekentd. Bill
and Mary spent New Year's
Eve with Bob and Ruth Laing
of Cromarty and several of
their friends.
Bill and Helen Taylor's
family were home for
Christmas Day.
On Christmas Sunday, the
Mel Webster family
celebrated together at Varna
Hall.
The January meeting of
Varna United Women is being
held this Thursday evening at
Margaret Ilayter's home at
8:30.
Starting next Sunday, Rev.
Wilena Brown will be
preaching a series of sermons
on the basics of our faith. This
series will be of particular in-
terest to those wishing to join
the Church on profession of
faith.
