Men's choir provides music for Father's

CENTRALIA
A men's choir provided
the music for the Father's
Day service in the United
Church on Sunday morning.
Rob Esserv's vocal solo and
the number by the choir are
worthy of mention and ap-
preciated by those in atten-
dance.
Rev. Burton Crowe speak-
ing on "Faith'' used the faith
of the patriarchs as outlined
in the 11th chapter of
Hebrews and a Biblical
background upon which to
base his thoughts.
Faith is a total response to
the will of God and gives the
assurance of things hoped
for.
This coming Sunday Com-
munion will be observed in
the Centralia church.
Personals
Mrs. Russell Wilson,
Margaret and Barbara spent
a few days last week at their
cottage at Shepherd Lake.
Visitors with Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Essery during the past
week were Mr. and Mrs.
Chas. (Chuck) Rowe, Wind-
sor and Saturday visitors
were Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Lightfoot and Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Essery and family.

AGRICULTURE GRAD —
Thomos Robert Hayter, son 1
of Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Hayter, Dashwood,
graduated from the Universi-
ty of Guelph with an Honours
Bachelor of Science Degree
in Agriculture. He also receiv-
ed the R.J. Watford Award
for his outstanding
achievements in poultry
courses and related activities.
Tom is presently forming with
his father.

ACW meets

Thursday evening the
A.C.W. of St. Patrick's
church met at the home of
Mrs. Mary Jefferies. with
eight members present.
President Mrs. Mar-
guerite Greenlee openers the
meeting with the members
prayer. Several members
assisted with prayers. with
a special prayer for the
group's prayer partner at
Summer Lake at Nakina
The group packed a bale for
the residents of the Indian
School at Nakina
Plans were discussed for
the August 26 chicken
barbecue to be held at the
church. The Mystery prize
donated by Mrs Mary Davis
was won by Mrs Ivan
Greenlee. a contest by the
president was enjoyed by
all.
A report on the profit from
the garage sale and home
baking was read by Mary
Davis and Secretary Mary
Jefferies read the minutes of
the May meeting Following
closing prayers the hostess
served refreshments

ducted morning prayer Sun-
day. This was his last ser-
vice until September Rev.
Mary Mils. a former rector.
will be in charge of next Sun-
day's service at 9:30 a.m.

enjoyed a three day visit
with Bob's parents Mr and
Mrs. Jack MacGillivray
north of Wiarton.
Mr. and Mrs Jim Barker
spent the weekend with their
cousins Mr. and Mrs. Don
Abbott, Manitoba. "`
Mr. and 'Mrs. Harry
Carroll, Saintsbury and Mrs.
Ford Dyer, Sarnia were Sun-
day guests with Mr. and
Mrs. Wayne Carroll and
family.
Mrs. Mary Davis was
goat with her sister Mrs.
Alexia Atkinson, Lucan, Sun-
day at noon. ,

had the pleasure, Friday, of
calling and renewing ac-
quaintances with Mrs. R. N.
Stewart, Montreal and Mrs.
George Thompson, London,
who were guests at the home
of Mrs. Margaret Fletcher
in Exeter.

the Stratford Pavilion Sun-
day in celebration of
Father's Day and mother's
birthday. Mrs. Chas. Spen-
diff, Stratford attended also.
