Sunday School anniversary at Thames Road

The anniversary service
Sunday was well attended
with baskets of peonies
decorating the church. The
choir was filled with Sunday
School members and their
teachers.

Rev. Graham Tipple of
Calvary United Church, Lon-
don told a very impressive
story to the children, and en-
titled his sermon to the
adults, "Memories Are For

the teachers lit the birthday'
candles which were set
around a replica of Thames
Road Church which was
made by Mrs. John Pym.
Everyone in the choir and
the children from the con-
gregation all gathered at the
front of the church and
everyone sang Happy Birth-
day to the church. They
made wishes and blew out
the candles. Pastor Ross
Hargreaves pronounced the
Benediction and invited
everyone to the basement
for hot dogs and birthday
cake.
Dedication service
The dedication service on
Sunday evening was well
attended. The evening corn-
menced with music by
William and Rhoda Rohde on
the violin and piano.

St. Mary's church,
Brinsley held a very
successful strawberry and
ham supper, Wednesday
eve. More than 360 meals
were served. The Rose of
Sharon quilt which had been
made by the Ladies Guild
was won by Frances Vande
Brock.
Steve and Cindy Foden
visited over the weekend
with Mr. and Mrs. George
Prest.
Sacrament of Commu-
nion was observed Sunday in
the United Church
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Morley
and Mrs. Joe Durand and
family, Bayfield were Satur-
day afternoon visitors with
Mrs. Violet Allison and
Kathleen Morley.
Congratulations to Mr. and
Mrs. Bev Thompson (nee
Kris McIntosh) who were
married in Mt. Carmel
church, Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Atkin-
son were recent visitors with
Mr. and Mrs. George Prest.
Several attended the
strawberry and ham supper
at Greenway United Church
Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hodgins
and family of Strathroy were
weekend visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Lewis.

tion for Mr. and Mrs. Bev
Thompson at the Lucan
Community Centre. Satur-

Hargreaves gave the
Dedication of Memorials
and the Prayer of Interces-
sion and Gratitude.
A great number of
memorials were dedicated
namely, Sanctuary windows,
Dove Window and Vestibule
Window, Plaque, Carpet,
Exterior of church,
Vestibule Light, Picture,
Drapes and Lectern, Corner
Cabinet, Light on Organ,
Cross, Table, Bible Stand,
Bible, Mirror, Candelabra,
Doors, Brass Vases, Collec-
tion plates, Fern Stands, etc.
Offering was received by
Donald Bray and Jack
Stewart. The service was
closed with singing "The
Day Thou Gayest" and
Pastor Hargreaves
pronounced the Benediction.
All the people went to the
basement where fruit bread
and beverage were served.
Thursday evening June 25
Rev. Stan McDonald is call-
ing a meeting of the joint
congregation of the Thames
Raod - Elimville Pastoral
Charge at Thames Road
Church at 8 p.m. The pur-
pose is to appoint a Pastoral
Relations Committee.
• Sunday June 28 there will
be no service at Thames
Road Church owing to Elim-
ville anniversary.
