To dedicate Dashwood Zion Church

Dedication of the new
church building for Zion
Lutheran Dashwood con-
gregation rill take place
Sunday June 21 There will
be two services
The service of Dedication
is at 10:30 a in and the
Festival service is at 3:30
p.m.
In the morning the rite of
dedication will be led by the
Pastor of Zion the Rev. M.
Mellecke. The scripture will
be read by Rev. William
Gatz a former pastor of
Zion. The sermon will be
given by Rev. Dr. Robert
Sauer. a vice-president of
the Lutheran Church
Missouri Synod of which
Zion is a member.
In the afternoon service
the scripture will be read by
the Rev. Kenneth Zorn also a
former pastor of Zion. The
sermon will be given by Rev.
Arthur Rader. a son of the
congregation.
The public is invited to re-
joice with Zion congregation
Dr. Robert Sauer
as they replace the former
building which was
destroyed by fire April 5,
1979. Closed circuit T.V. will
enable an overflow to par-
ticipate in the service.
Back from vacation
We are home after a week
spent in the north at
Inverlocky. The fishing was
the best yet and the weather
fair.
We had visitors at the cot-
tage, a raccoon, red fox and
the usual hungry chipmunks.
I took pictures of our
neighbour feeding the coon
and Irvin feeding the red
fox.
Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Rest-
mayer were in a nearby cot-
tage so our evenings were
spent playing cards.
Personels
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Stade
attended a 40th wedding an-
niversary for Mr. and Mrs.
Nick Biesenthal tthelatter's
brother) in Regina. Sask.
During their two weeks stay,
they also visited relatives
and friends in Melville.
Windthorst and Ripling
Sask. They had a wonderful
trip.
Mr. and Mrs. Emil Becker
have returned home follow-
ing a trip to Vancouver
Island. They visited with
relatives in Brandon.
Manitoba. Nelson, B C. and
Gary. Indiana.
Sympathy is extended to
Hilda Rader in the loss of her
sister Mrs. Clara Deichert
Ladies entertain at Bluewater
Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid

the Bluewater Rest Home
Zurich to a birthday party

violin and piano. Mrs. Ray
Rader gave a reading "the
value of a smile". Nancy
Rader played the piano and
sang. Brenda Rader and
Jayne Hayter played piano
selections. Happy birthday
was sung to the birthday par-
ticipants, and gifts were
handed out.
Following lunch a business
meeting was called. with
Mrs. Ray Rader presiding.
Twenty members answered
the roll call, also two guests.
Isobel Becker read the
secretary's report and Helen
Nadiger read the treasurers
report.
The visiting committee
made a total of twenty two
calls, and card and treat
sent out one flower. The new
alter guild is Mrs. Earl
Keller and Mrs. Ray Rader.
Donations were received
from several people.
It was decided to donate
cookies, and help with the
snacks at vacation Bible
school coming up July 6 to
17.
A motion was made to
purchase two Wear -Ever
K.D. racks for the church
kitchen. A motion was made
to again have the bakeless
bake sale Donations
gratefully accepted
Group 3 will be in charge
for July and group 1 for
August. Meeting closed with
the Lords Prayer

Miss Ruth Skinner gave
readings and then called on
Mrs. Morris Herr for an
armchair travelogue of a
trip to Europe where the
Passion Play was attended
This splendid event is held
every 10 rears at a small
town in the Bavarian Alps
Mrs. Squire Herdman
thanked Mrs. Herr and
presented her with a gift.

chair for the business with

June 8. She is presently
employed by the Ministry of
Correctional Services. Lori is
the daughter of Ken and
Shirley Keller, Goderich. She
is the granddaughter of Mrs.
Frieda Keller, Dashwood.

Seniors Fronkenmuth trip
Several senior citizens
from Dashwood went by All
Star bus to Frankenmuth,
Michigan Sunday June 14. It
was a good trip but some dis-
appointment occurred when
heavy rains cancelled part of
the parade, most floats had
no one on and no one was
allowed to stand on the
porch at the pavilion. They
were however, able to view
it from Zehnders. A visit to
the Santa Claus store follow-
ed.
Mrs. Elda Koehler is home
after a visit with Mr. and
Mrs. Spike Nagel and family
of Oshawa.
There was an error in the
donation to the Dashwood
and Area Medical centre.
The Stitch and Chatter club
from Dashwood, rather than
Grand Bend.
The club will have their
55th anniversary this year.
Over the years the group of
ladies have contributed to a
great many community pro-
jects and also to the Sick
Children's Hospital and
Children's Aid.

participants in the parade at Tuesday's Hensoll Spring Fair.
