Anniversary at Kirkton

St. Pauls Anglican Church
Anniversary was celebrated
Sunday. The guest preacher
was Reverend Rokeby
Thomak, Kitchener a former
minister of the parishes of
Kirkton, Granton and
Saintsbury.
Two baskets of flowers at
the front of the church were
in memory of the late Mrs.
Garnet Isaac a former
member of Saintsbury con-
gregation. Lessons were
read by Maureen Blackler
and David Creery.
Mr. and Mrs. Lorne
Marshall visited Sunday
with Mri and Mrs. Ron
Marshall and family in
Kitchener.
Mr. and Mrs. Ron
Sutherland, Mrs. Wm. J.
Blackler, Mr. and Mrs.
Leslie Fairbairn London,
Mrs. Clare Sisson. Strathroy
Mrs. June Robinson, Exeter
attended the St. Pauls
church anniversary and
were dinner guests in the
village.
Mrs. J. McCormick spent
four or five days last
weekend in May with Mr.
and Mrs. John Hanniman at
Renfrew.

visiting with Mrs. T. Elliott.

and were guests after of Mr.

graduated from Sheridan
College Oakville in Retail
Management Art June 5.

Greenway
ladies meet

GREENWAY
The United Church Women
met at the church for their
June meeting with Martha
Geromette as hostess.
Elaine Moore opened the
meeting with the "Call to
Worship" after which the
hymn "Blessed Assurance"
was sung. She then led us in
prayer.
The scripture was
Colossians 3:12-17 and was
read by Ruby Isaac. Mrs.
Moore spoke on "Christian
Fellowship" and ended with
the thought from Glen
Campbell's song, "Let me
think more of my Neighbour
• and a Little Less of Me." She
closed with prayer.
Special music was
provided by Ruby Isaac,
Isabel Bullock, and Evelyn
Curts entitled, "You can
have a Song in Your Heart at
Night." Mrs. Moore then
spoke on "Partners in the
Gospel" from the Study Book
and she closed with a poem,
"It's the Little Things That
Count."
The president then
presided for the business and
plans were completed for the
strawberry and ham supper
on June 20and it was decided
that we would cater for a
wedding in September.
Twenty-five new chairs were
purchased.
The missionary
benediction and Grace were
repeated and a delicious
lunch was served by Mrs.
Harold Brophey and Mrs.
Orville Mellin. A social time
followed
Congratulations to Mary
Anne Ansems, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. John Ansems
on her recent graduation
from Waterloo University.
Mary Anne will be teaching
at Fanshawe College.
The Anglican Church
ladies are planning a
strawberry and ham supper
on Wednesday evening, June
17, at Greenway.
Gerald and Carolyn
Merner and Julia along with
Julia's friends of Exeter
visited with Harvey and
Shirley Eagleson on
Saturday. Sunday evening,
the Eagleson's were dinner
guests of Gary and Chris
Eagleson of Zurich.
Marion Steeper held an
Open House at her home on
Sunday afternoon in honour
of her daughter Anne's
coming marriage to Robbie
Thoman of Parkhill.
Congratulations to Gladys
Hodgins who is celebrating
her 70th birthday on
Saturday June 20, at the
home of her son Ivan. Her
daughter, Alma, Mrs. John
Hood, of London is holding
Open House for her in the
afternoon.
Ken and Luella Smithers
attended the Oddfellows
Service at the Presbyterian
Church, Watford last Sunday
night.
Mrs. Harold Brophey is a
patient in Strathroy Hospital
and Mr. Gordon Woodburn
has returned home from the
hospital.
Congratulations to Brian
Bullock who will receive his
degree on Tuesday June 9 as
an Electrical Engineer from
Western University. He flew
to Vancouver for a week
recently and is employed by
Sparton of Canada. His
parents Stuart and Ruth
Bullock will attend his
graduation
Mrs. Harold Dobson of
Fonthill recently renewed
friendships in the area. Her
husband was a former
minister here.
Bill and Shirley Woodburn
attended her sister and
brother-in-law's 40th wed-
ding anniversary, Sunday
May 31. Orlo and Laura
Mater live at Oakdale.
