A talent sale followed the
May meeting of the Marian
Ritchie evening Auxiliary
held in the Cromarty Church
basement on Tuesday May
19, at 9 p.m. with Mrs.
Robert Laing presiding.
Mrs. Laing opened the
meeting with a poem, The
Greatest of These" followed
by Hymn 367. Mrs. Alex
Miller had the devotions
using the theme "Home and
Family" "reading from
Matthew :6 5-15, with
everyone repeating the
Lords Prayer in unison. Nine
members and three visitors
answered the roll call with a
verse on Home or Family.
Offering was received by
Mrs. Norman Harburn and
Prayer by Mrs•. Laing.
For her topic, Mrs. Lorne
Elliott, gave a reading
"Building a Happy Home."
Mrs. Lloyd Miller gave the
study book on the Church
and Social Need, dealing
with education, health and
family planning. The
president, Mrs. Alex Miller
presided for the business,
reporting that the booth at
the sale on Saturday had
been successful.
An invitation was received
to meet with Hensall Carmel
Ladies, Monday June 1, at 8
p.m. The Spring Conference
is to be held at Creif Hills,
this year , Monday June 1,
with the Listowel ladies in
charge.
Everyone joined in singing
the Indian Hymn to close the
meeting.

Homemakers get aid
The Board of Directors of

Homemakers held their
regular meeting recently at
Seaforth Community
Hospital.
The main topic of
discussion was the purchase
of the office facilities at 92
Victoria Street in Wingham.
To date, =8785.00 has been
raised toward the price of
$38,000.00.
The Board expressed
appreciation, to the people
who have contributed to the

Suggestions were made for
further fundraising possibly
selling flower bulbs or
holding variety concerts at
various locations throughout
the county later in the fall.
Jean Young, executive
director reported that,
"Canada Manpower has
advised me that the training
course for Homemakers has
been reinstated, and a new
class will start in September
of 1981 at Conestoga College,
Clinton Campus.
•A slide presentation is
available to any group in
Huron County for the pur-
pose of informing as many
people as possible about the
services available through
Town and Country
Homemakers.
The board has been at-
tempting to rotate their
regular meetings throughout
the county. With this in
mind, the next meeting is to
be held at A.R.C.. (Adult
Rehabilitation Centre)
Industries, Dashwood
following a tour of the
facilities.
Pentecostal ladies
receive letters
The May meeting of the
Women's Ministries of the
Pentecostal Tabernacle was
held at the home of Mrs.
Meine Einzenga with 14
members .present.
The meeting was opened
by singing the hymn "He
took my sins away." Mrs.
Lois Gonyou lead in prayer.
We then sang "The Lily of
the Valley." The roll call
was answered with a verse
of scripture on a flower of
the Bible.
The minutes of the last
meeting were Lead by Mrs.
Shirley Prouty and adopted
as read. Several letters from
missionaries were read. and
also a thank you letter from
a Bible student who had
received the quilt which was
ENGAGED — Mr. and Mrs. Ray Heywood, Exeter, are pleas-

Struyke, Dashwood. The wedding will take place on Satyr.

read by Mrs. Mary
Blanchard. A missionary
reading was given by Beulah
Desjardine. "A spiritual ex-
perience or a coincidence".
The message of the after-
noon was given by Mrs.
Mary Blanchard. Her theme
was "Can your faith fail." A
time of prayer followed.
A presentation was then
made to Mrs. Mary
Blanchard on the occasion of
their 48th wedding anniver-
sary.
A delicious lunch was
served by Mrs. Lois Gonyou,
Mrs. Ruth McLaren and
Edith Millar.

ordination service of their
minister Rev. Barbara La-
ing. She was one of 13 can-
didates ordained by Rev.
Bill Seyers, president of the
London conference and
moderator Dr. Lois Wilson.

Eighteen members of Zion
Lutheran church attended
the Lutheran Laymen's
League Spring Rally at St.
Peter's Lutheran church,
Stratford on Sunday.
Mrs. Frieda Keller has
returned home from South
Huron Hospital. Exeter.
Sunday guests with Mr.
and Mrs. Lloyd Rader were
Mr. and Mrs. Garnet
Weiberg, Waterloo, Mr. and
Mrs. Irvin Rader and Mr.
and Mrs. Elgin Rader.

Parsons wedding at Exeter
and the reception at the Rec
Centre. Saturday.
Bill and Sharon Bennett
spent eleven days with their
parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Bennett, London. and Mr.
and Mrs. Irvin and other
relatives prior to moving to
Regina. They attended Bill's
graduation at Thunder Bay,
Lakehead University, May
30.
Mrs. Jessie Ford has been
able to return to her apart-
ment in Exeter. She would
like to thank everyone who
visited her in the Hospital.
