Sewer problems
plague GB council
Continued from page 17
they would have to look back
over the billing for the water
system to come up with a
policy for irtegular shaped
lots.
Green Acres resident
Leroy Keyes said that he had
been billed for 129 foot fron-
tage while the rear of his lot
is only 105 feet.
Van Laughton reported
that he was the village
solicitor at the time water
was installed, and that the
back and front of wedge
shaped lots were averaged
to come up with a figure to
establish Tates.
Letters were received
from several other residents
of Green Acres who have ple
shaped lots.
As well, Enid Johnson
attended the meeting, saying
that their lot was triangular,
and she did not feel that they
should have to pay the rate
for the full frontage.
Also, Council heard
ecomplalnts from Ross
Marshall who lives at the
end of the sewer line. He
was charged for a 150 foot
frontage, while the sewer
only extends 99 feet unto his
porperty. Council agreed to
alter his billing.
Council decided that they
will have to come up with a
policy for irregular shaped
lots. Clerk Louise Clipperton
estimated that 50 percent of
the village would fall into

Council learned from the
minutes of the rec com-
mittee that Angelo Maruca
had joined that group. Plans
for' the Busy Bee children's
program at the parkette
were discussed. A grant of
$1504 was received from the
Ministry of Culture and
Recreation for the program.
Terry Crabe of Pinery Park
attended the rec meeting to
describe facilities at the

Green Acres residents
also asked about having
-their road paved. Council
said that the engineer had
recommended that the road
not be paved for five years.
Council is going to decide
whether or not to tar and
chip the road.
Also pertaining to sewer
problems, council received a
letter from the Grand Bend
Cruising Club, saying that a
piece of equipment used
when sewers were installed
had rolled through their yard
and destroyed some of their
new docks. The letter said
that the Blue Con construc-
tion workers had
endeavoured to repair the
dock themselves.
However, the club had
orginally used pressure
treated lumber and °S1pecial
pilings. The replacement
was of ordinary spruce
lumber and the pilings were
not adequately put in.
The letter went on to say
that the materials and
workmanship were not to
the club's satisfaction.
Council agreed that the
repairs should be done
again, and decided to pass
the letter on to Blue Con con-
struction.
