guests of the Caven W.M.S.
Exeter, Monday night.
The guest speaker, Gwyn
Whilsmith of St. Joseph,
gave a very interesting
account of her work as an
interviewer for the
University of Guelph's
survey on the senior citizens
of Huron County.
Tuesday, grade six
students from Upper
Thames Elementary School
left for Camp Menesetung,
north of Goderich, where
they stayed until Friday,
studying the geography,
science, etc. of the area.
Students from the Cromarty
area who attended were
Karen Meikle, Tom Laing,
Mary Jane Johns and Dennis
Johns.
During the opening
exercises at Cromarty
Sunday School, Ruth Laing's
class presented a skit en-
titled Doubting Thomas.
Taking part were Steven
Gardiner as Peter, Tracey
Parsons as Jesus, Paul
Parsons as James and Tom
Laing as Thomas.
Early Saturday evening
evening, Mitchell fire trucks
were called out to Robert There was a good crowd at

the village of part of Lots 19 and 22, Concession 1,
in the Township of Hay, in the County of Huron as
described in By-law 012-80 of the applicant Cor-
poration.
APPOINTMENT FOR HEARING
THE ONTARIO MUNICIPAL BOARD hereby appoints Monday, the 8th
day of June, 1981, at the hour of one o'clock (local time) in the after-
noon, at the Town Hall Council Chambers, in the Village of Hensall for
the hearing of this application.
If you do not attend and are not represented at this hearing, the
Board may proceed in your absence and you will not be entitled to
any further notice of the proceedings.
In the event the decision is reserved, persons taking part in the hearing
and wishing a copy of the decision may request a copy from the
presiding Board Member or, in writing, from the Board. Such decision
will be mailed to you when available.

motocross fans who visited Nulty Gully near Varna for three
days of races, fireworks and sky -divers.

left Himself without wit-
nesses around the world and
!His witness seems more
attractive when it expresses
something of the local
culture."
Mabel also mentioned how
the late Mr. McQueen used to
help lift the late Miss
Hoggarth, who was in a
wheel chair up the church
stairs to each Sunday service
some years ago, showing
love to a disabled person.
This being the year of the
disabled person brought this
to mind.
Audrey Christie read the
minutes of the April meeting
and 30 ladies answered the
roll call. Audrey Christie had
the following business: June
1, U.C.W. are invited to the
Presbyterian Church; June
2, U.C.W. invited to
Brucefield U.C.W. at 2 p.m.
Unit responsible for flowers
in church sanctuary in June;
Unit 1 has devotional for
June 8 General meeting and
will meet at 7:30 previous to
regular 8 p.m. meeting.
There will be a special
speaker note the change of
date. A bake sale will be held
at the Hensall Arena on June
20 -- this is the Fiddlers'
contest weekend.
The Regional meeting has
been set for September 30 at
Kippen United Church.
Marg Consitt conducted an
interesting contest followed
by a social time with our
hostess and assistant Gert
Middleton ,knd Dorothy'
Kipfer.
Bible Society Sunday
Canadian Bible Society
Sunday was observed at
Hensall United Church,
Sunday when Rev. D.L.
Howlett of London was the
guest speaker. His message
was "The Book of Peace"
and the children were told a
story in the children's time
of service. Mrs. Mary
Moffatt was guest organist
for the service of music.
A meeting of the
congregation of Hensall
United Church has been
called for Sunday May 3'.
immediately following the
morning service for the
purpOSe of receiving per-
mission, and forming a
housing corporation for
senior citizens housing.
The Official Board
meeting of the Hensel]
United Church scheduled on
the monthly calendar will
not be held and has been re-
scheduled for Wednesday,
June 3 with committee at
7:30 p.m. and the Official
Board at 8:30 p.m.

UCW meet
at Kippen
The May meeting of the
Kippen U.C.W. was held at
the church on Tuesday May
12 with 17 members present.
Mrs. Jack Sinclair was in
charge of a very impressive
worship service. The
scripture was taken from
Proverbs 31:10-31. Mrs.
Sinclair chose as her theme
"They call her blessed" in
commemoration of Mothers
Day. A poem "To my
Mother" was given.
Meditation and silent
prayer, beatitudes of Mother
were included in the ob-
servance of Mothers Day.
The business portion of the
meeting was capably con-
ducted by Mrs. David Cooper
in the absence of Mrs. Robt
Kinsman.
Invitations were received
and accepted to attend
Carmel Presbyterian
church, Hensall thankof-
fering meeting, Monday
June 1 at 8 p.m. and
Brucefield Church Visitors
day, Tuesday June 2 at 2
p.m.
The combined outdoor
Church Service and picnic of
the Brucefield-Kippen
pastoral charge will be held,
June 7 at 11 a.m. at the
Hensall recreation park.
Mrs. Art McCallum and
Mrs. Norman Dickert
request all articles for the
sale be left at the church by
June 1.
Mrs. Ronald McGregor
was in charge of the topic
and gave a very informative
talk on the handicapped and
disabled illustrated by slides
showing progress in their
education.
Group leaders and the
social committee of the
U.C.W. will meet at an
earlier date prior to the June
meeting. Courtesy remarks
were given by Mrs. Lloyd
Cooper.

Tuesday evening a bridal
shower was held in the
church basement for
Barbara Kerslake, whose
marriage took place in
sieix1e and contests by Betty
Anne Miller.
Pamela Wallace read an
address and the bride was
assisted in opening her gifts
by her sister, Marie, and the
groom's sister.
