This centre is situated in an apartment in Huronview and is open five days a week. The purpose of the centre is to provide social, educational and recreational activity for those who are home -bound by reason of age ENGAGED Mt. and Mrs. Henry Finkbeiner are pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter Gayle Marie to Gregory Ernest Alexander son of Mrs. Florence Morrison and the late John Morrison. CHARLES GARDINER Mr. and Mrs. Charles James Gardiner were married in Scotland, at Denny Gospel Hall, Stirlingshire, April 25. The bride is the former Miriam Sarah Rankin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Rankin, Dennyloanhead, Stirlingshire. The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. James W. Gardiner R.R. 1 Kirkton. The bride and groom have returned to Canada and have taken up residence at Cromarty. There was a reception for the newlyweds in the Dashwood Community Centre on Fri- day, May 8. A picnic supper will be held on June 2 in the Legion Hall. at 5:30 p.m. Bring food. dishes and cutlery. The program was conven- ed by Hazel Snell and Ina Skinner. and was well received. After a short sing song, Jean Isaac gave a humorous reading. Mrs. I)an McLeod rendered two solos, then Alma Langford spoke to members on mothers and grandmothers. Hazel Snell read a poem on Mother's Apron Ina Skinner thanked all who took part in the program. or disability and who wish to retain the independence of their own homes. Miss Armstrong illustrated her talk with slides. She stressed the need for volunteers to drive and to help with crafts. Hilda Taylor was in charge of the program using the theme, "Mothers" for the worship. Jean Pooley assisted. To illustrate the study Partners in Crisis, Mrs. Taylor told two personal stories where farm neigh- bours helped in a crisis. A vocal duet by Ellen Forsythe andAlma Langford was enjoyed. During the business, Marilyn Johnson gave the following dates - May 19, 9:30 a.m. executive meeting; May 25, 8 p.m. general meeting. The June Unit meeting will be a pot luck luncheon at 12:30 each to bring own plates, cups and cutlery. Marion Dearing gave a brief account of the Presbyterial held in Strat- ford where both speakers were handicapped. They had stressed the need for access to buildings, including churches, for the han- dicapped. Sorority instal new officers Alpha Pi chapter 2733 were welcomed into the home of Anmarie Hoffman on May 5 for the Installation of Officers for the 1981-82 year. Past president Janice Brock conducted the ceremony installing Susan Moore as president, Sharon McNeilly as vice-president, Nancy Chambers as secretary, Sandra Campbell as treasurer, Mrs. Helen Frayne as sponsor and Mrs. Lillian Campbell as director. Parting gifts were presented to Anmarie Hoffman, Ann Baynham, Bonnie Ratz and Suzanne Strang as they move on to the Xi Gamma Nu chapter. Joy Darling served lunch while final plans were made for a Mother's Day luncheon.
