is zone group president
One of the top Arahian
horse owners in the area is
deeply involved in
promoting the breed
throughout the province.
Adrian Brand who
operates Brandale Arabians.
on his farm north of
Crediton is president of Zone
1 of the Ontario Arabian
group and secretary of the
Arabian Horse Association
of Eastern Canada.
Brand has a total of 13
purebred Arabians including
four brood mares.
Asked if he was planning
on expanding his operation.
he replied. "No. I want to
work on quality by up-
grading my stock by more
select breeding.
His prize Arabian at the
present time is Brandale
Haizyek. a two year-old
stallion has shown well being
junior champion at an all
Arabian show last year.
The Crediton enthusiast
will likely be participating in
the Great Lakes show in
London in mid-July and an
all -Arabian show in Kincar-
dine on Civic holiday Satur-
day.
The following day a
benefit show will be held in
Ilderton with all proceeds
going to the Lupis Associa-
tion.
A number of fun shows
will be held for the first time
this summer. The first is
May 10 in Dorchester.
The fun shows are design-
ed for the beginner. Brand
says "This is a good place to
start. They are open to any
breed and a chance for the
beginner to get some ex-
perience.''
He continued. -Judging
will be done and ribbons
awarded similar to a saddle
club show. We want people
to enjoy their horses more

and possibly some extra help.

Brandale this Oast weekend
with a krait ride with eight
riders participating. The
Brandale arena is 120 by 60
feet in size and is ideal for
clinics and training
Adrian Brand is the leader
this year of the Exeter 4-11
horse club with eight
members from Grand Bend.

The lessons are provided
by the Ministry of
Agriculture and include
training of Western or
English hoses. health care
and proper ways to show
