WILLIAM ROHDE THAMES ROAD Mrs. Dorothy Heard, St. Marys spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. George Kellett. Miss Jennifer Sharp, Sar- nia spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sharp. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Rohde, Mitchell visited Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. William Rohde. Mr. David Duncan, Strat- ford a second year theologian student spent the weekend with Pastor Ross and Mrs. Hargreaves. Pastor Ross Hargreaves spent last week at Ceda1; Glen. A large number of people from this area attended Open House Sunda at the home of Mr. and Floyd Cooper of Elimin in honour of their d ughter Kathy's wedding on Satur- day to Robert Bray. Miss. Elaine Stewart of London spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stewart. Gordon Pengally, Belgrave, Mrs. Myrtle Metters, Exeter. Mr. and Mrs. David Passmore attended ' shower for Miss Betty Crawford and Gerald Grace at Detroit on Sunday. They are bride and groom to be in the near future. Pastor Ross Hargreaves was in charge of the church service Sunday. He told the children's story. Miss Agnes Bray favoured with an organ solo "What a Friend We Have In Jesus" with variations. Mr. David Duncan read the different passages of Scripture Ezekiel 36, 22 - 27, Joel 2 26 29 and different verses from Romans 8. Mr. Duncan had as his sermon "The Ministery of the Holy Spirit. Wednesday May 6 at 8 a joint session meeting will be held at the manse. Sunday May 10 the Sunday School members are asked to meet at 11 a.m. to have their attendance marked before the combined service at 11:15. Sunday May 24 at 8 p.m. a 30 voice choir, from Woodstock will have a ser- vice in the church. Many people from this area attended the Spring Concert 81. At Parkhill achievement night Times -Advocate, May 6, 1981 Pape 9 Greenway 4-H girls honored By ANNE WALPER GREENWAY 4-H Achievement Night was held at Parkhill on Thursday evening. This com- pleted the club "Which Came First the Chicken or the Egg?" Betty Ann Mollard received a Leadership Certificate for leading clubs for five years. Elizabeth Waiper received Provincial Honours for hav- ing completed twelve clubs and Jamie McLeod received County Honours for having completed six clubs. Other members are Robin Turner, Martha Mollard, Brenda Bullock, Karen Lagerwerf, Lynne and Laurie Rowe, and Janet Eagleson. The girls planned an ex- hibit "Egg Gadgets". The commentator was Karen Lagerwerf and Lynne Rowe was her assistant. The leaders and the nine girls of Cloverdale No. 3 Club were presented with silver spoons and both leaders received 4- H pins. Several people from here attended the twenty-fifth wedding anniversary for Hans and Doris Harms which was held at the Thed- ford Arena on Saturday night. The United Church Women are meeting on Wednesday of this week at the Manse in Grand Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Smithers spent Tuesday of this week in London. While there they visited Mr. and Mrs. Alfred •Mallette, Mrs. Rogs Scafe and Carman Smithers. The Rev Harley Moore spent some time recently at the Cedar Glen Conference Centre. The event was, "The Minister as Professional Leader." It was conducted by Dr. Lyle Schaller of the Yokefellow institute of Napperville, Illinois. Thirty- four ministers from Ontario attended. It was a course on dealing with various parish problems that are part of the 1980's. Many people attended the Masonic banquet and dance that was held on Friday evening at the Parkhill Com- munity Centre.
