Three infants baptized at United Church service The Sacrament of Baptism was observed at Hensall United Church by Rev. Stanley McDonald on Sun- day, April 26. Presenting their children for baptism; Paul and Linda Alexander were witnesses with their son Ryan Paul; Kenneth and Trudy Ferguson with their son Christopher John; and Bill and Heather Forrest with their son Steven Jaynes Deric. Each couple received a blue carnation as a sign of a new life. The message, given by Rev. McDonald, was based on Proverbs 22, verse 6, "Train Up a Child in the way he should go, and he will not depart from it". This message is old, yet ever new. with each generation. Libraries get contest "What my library means to me" is the theme of the Huron County Public Library drawing contest sponsored at the Exeter Hensall and Kirkton branch libraries. The contest is open to children aged 6 to 12. There are two age groups. 6 to 9 and 10 to 12. Prizes will be awarded in both age groups. The contest is now in full swing and all entries must be at the Exeter. Hensall and Kirkton branch libraries by closing time Saturday, May 9. The drawing must appear on an 8'2 by 11" piece of paper available at your local branch library. The winning drawings will be displayed at the Suncoast Mall during National Book Festival. A reception will be held following the service so that more people may meet Mrs. Taylor. The official board will meet on Wednesday April 29 at 7:30 p.m. Carmel Presbyterian Rev. Kenneth Knight con- ducted worship service in Carmel Presbyterian Church on Sunday. The "Watchmen" of Kitchener will be presenting an evening of music in Carmel Church on Sunday evening at 7:30. The group has now sung to hundreds of thousands of people in Canada and the U.S. The Watchmen have appeared on many radio and television shows as well as having recorded several long- playing albums. Plan to at- tend this musical evening on May 3rd. Choir parties will be held on Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock. All members are asked to please be present. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Shad - dick, and Michelle of Kitchener, were guests at the Sutherland -Hyde wed- ding on Saturday and visited with the former's mother Mrs. Pearl Shaddick. Bus tour to Ohio A Hanover tour company will be taking a bus trip to Akron, Ohio, on the weekend or May 24. Watch for further particulars or telephone Mrs. Jim Love, Zurich. This is a Hensall-Zurich area bus trip. Pesonais Mr. and Mrs. Ross Corbett attended the wedding of the latter's neice on Saturday. Miss Pamela Taylor married Steven Dennen at the church in Gravenhurst and the reception following at the community centre. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Smith were also guests at the wed- ding. Mr. and Mrs. Don MacLaren, Jodi and Brooke of Oakville were weekend visitors with Mrs. Bertha BEST COACH - Louis Mitchell (right) awards the coach of the year trophy to Bill Taylor of the Hensall Sherwoods. Taylor was awarded at the South Huron Hockey League banquet, Friday. MacGregor and were guests at the Sutherland - Hyde wedding. Mrs. Florence Keller of Dashwood visited last week with her son and daughter- in-law Mr. and Mrs. Ron Keller. Mr. Marvin Taylor who was a patient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter, following an accident when he was severly burnt, was able to return to his home on Satur- day. Mrs. E. Rannie and Mrs. J. Sommons returned from an enjoyable holiday to Western Canada and Banff. Mrs. Ross MacMillan of Waterloo spent last Thurs- day with her mother Mrs. Laird Mickle. Mrs. Mabel Shirray returned to her home after spending the winter months in Florida.
