HUGH MORENZ SHIPKA .A good number attended the annual Shipka communi- ty meeting held Wednesday evening at the community centre Officers elected for the Celebration at Brinsley By GORDON MORLEY Mr and Mrs. George Prest and Viola Lewis visited with Scott Prest in University Hospital, London Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Morley dined Sunday even- ing with Mr. and Mrs. Nor- man Lewis and family. The annual meeting of the Mars Hill cemetery was held Sunday afternoon with the inspections of the cemetery grounds. followed by the meeting in Brinsley United Church basement. Earl Dixon of Centralia visited with Mr. and Mrs. George Prest. Sunday. Sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Robinson in the death of her uncle, Or- ville Dixon who passed`away in the University Hospital on Thursday. Recent visitors with Mrs. Violet Allison and Kathleen -Morley were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Mawson of Parkhill and Jim Morley. A number of friends and relative from the Brinsley area attended open house at Ailsa Craig United Church Sunday afternoon in honour of Mrs. Alice Hodgson's 85th birthday. • coming year were: presi- dent, Russell Mellin; vice pres., Harold Finkbeiner; secretary, Ann Russell; treasurer, Diane Kaak Trustees are: Jim Houlahan, Bill Finkbeiner and Joe Kaak. During the business, plans were made to hold the an- nual community picnic on July 16. A decision was made to postpone the annual spring housecleaning date to sometime in October. Plans are also underway to hold the annual harvest dance in the fall. Personals Lisa Martin, of Crediton, visited with her friend, Michelle Vincent. Saturday. Christopher Plein, of Elmira, spent a few days last week visiting here with Kippen couple off to Florida By MRS. Mr. and Mrs. Don Kyle and family, Amherst N.S. were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Kyle and attended the 50th anniversary celebration of their parents Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Kyle, Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Reid Cornwall, visited in the Kippen Area and attended the anniversary party for Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Kyle. his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ferman Snyder. Freida and Dave Wright, of St. Thomas, visited on the weekend with Freida's mother, Mrs. Thelma Beierling. Gloria Beierling, Kevin and Dwight visited recently with the boy's great grand- parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Adkins. in Zurich. Mrs. Sandra Regier, Christopher, Heather and Jill, of Detroit, visited last week with Sandra's parents, Ken and Ortha BakerSupper guests Saturday night with them were Mrs. Emma Schilbe, Zurich,' Les and Beatrice Locke, Trenton, Lou and Dolores Schilbe, Zurich. Last week at the Dashwood Men's Club, ladies night, at the com- munity centre, the 50-50 draw was held with proceeds for Dashwood Medical Cen- tre. Ortha Baker won second prize. and her daughter, San- dra Regier won third prize. Harold and Lucille Vin- cent. Lori, Michael and Michelle. visited Easter weekend in Michigan with Lucille's aunt Mrs. Madeline Bacon. Saginaw, also her mother and sisters, Mrs. Fred Hoffman, Mr. and Mrs. Horst Kovitzki and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Navarre and family, of the area of Barryton. Michigan. Recent visitors with Mrs. Trellis Little and Earl Steb- bins were Bill and Mary Ellen Little and family from London, and Philip Little, of Strathroy.
