At a 'Wednesday meeting
in Dashwood, plans for the
new Great Lakes senior
baseball league were finaliz-
ed.
Walt Parkinson of Arva
was named president for the
coming year with Clarke
Brock of London acting as
secretary -treasurer.
Ready for action will be
the Dashwood Tigers, Clin-
ton Colts, Thorndale Angels,
Arva and Kincardine in the
senior division. They will be
joined by junior teams from
London, Strathroy and
Byron.
Bob Hoffman of the
Dashwood Tigers reports
that the schedule is being set
this week and the first
games are expected to be
played on May 10.
The Dashwood club is ex-
pected to play at home every
Friday night starting May 15
unitl July 24 except for two
weekends when they are par-
ticipating in out-of-town
tournaments.
The Tigers will play in a
Tillsonburg tourney June 5
to 7 and in a similar event in
Kincardine July 17 through
19.
At the end of the schedule
the four top teams will meet
in playoffs for the "A"
championship with the bot-
tom four meeting for a "B"
trophy.
Individual trophies will be
available for the best
pitcher. the player with the
most home runs and the
most valuable player in the
league.

win title
The Doublers with a total
of 96 points have won the
regular championship of the
Exeter Legion mixed dart
league.
The Itchy Nitersswept five
points Friday nignt to take
over second place with 91
points, one more than the
Evil Eyes. The Winkers
placed fourth with 84 points
followed by the Outlaws at 80
points.
Barb Hearn won 36 games
over the schedule to lead the
ladies while Ray Snell was
tops for the men with 35
wins.
Marg Wragg with 168 was
the top scorer for the ladies
while Walter Romaniuk, Ray
Snellt ' Keith Brittain and
Eric Heywood were best for
the men with identical scores
of 140. Heywood also won
five games in one night.
For spares, Wayne
Parkinson shot a 180 score
for the men and also was
tops in games won with 31.
Linda Parkinson was the top
spare for the ladies with a
score of 140 and 15 victories.
