school with 10 tables in play.

Lightfoot passed away on
Tuesday in St. Joseph's
Hospital, a former resident
of the Brinsley area. Sym-
pathy is extended to her

law Simon Brand of Stephen

Achievement night April 29
Staffa 4-H clubs completed

The final meeting of the
Staffa No. 2 Chickees and the
Egg Snatchers, was held on
Monday, March 30, at the
Hibbert United Church in
Staffa.
The meeting was opened
with the 4-11 Grace led
by president Nancy Scott.
The members and guests
were then invited to begin the
buffet pot luck supper.
After the meal the guests
played a mixer supervised
by Cathy Barnes and Steven
Gardiner. The Egg Gammon
Game from the members
books was played by the
guests and the senior
members being supervised
by the juniors.
The guests then worked on
a word scramble while the
members held their meeting.
The roll call was answered,
the secretary's and
treasurer's reports were
given and plans were
completed for the 4-H
Achievement Day
Presentation.
The meeting was closed
withthe 4-H Pledge and ad-
journed by president, Nancy
Scott. Everyone was invited
to attend Achievement Night
at Upper ThamesElementary
School on Wednesday, April
29, at 7:30 p.m.
Auxiliary meets
David Dirks, Kitchener,
Regional Director of Ontario
March of Dimes was guest
speaker, when the Marion
Ritchie Evening Auxiliary
entertained neighbouring
church groups to an evening
of fellowship information
and entertainment in
Cromarty Presbyterian
Church on Tuesday evening,
April 7.
Mr. Dirks gave a most
informative talk on the work
of the March of Dimes, from
when it was first organized
in the early 50's to present
time. David, is very involved
with the physically han-
dicapped adults and
discussed their problems,
regarding transportation,
housing and employment.
David closed with a film
entitled "A Different
Approach". He was in-
troduced by Mrs. John
Templeman, and thanked by
Mrs. Jean Carey.
Guests were present from
Exeter, Hensall,
Chiselhurst, Seaforth,
Thames Road, Mitchell,
Staffa, and Cromarty. Mrs.
Alex Miller presided
welcoming everyone and
reading a poem on Spring.
Mrs. Jean Carey, had the
Devotions reading Luke,

casion of their 50th wedding
anniversary, April 8.

and Just a Closer walk with
Thee, sung by Mrs. Arnold
Harris, Mitchell. Both were
accompanied by Mrs. Ivan
Norris, Cromarty.
Following the closing
Hymn Rev. Kenneth Knight,
pronounced the Benediction
and Grace. Everyone en-
joyed a social hour in the
basement which had been
tastefully decorated with
daffodils, by the committee
in charge.
