Beloved wife of the late Norris Sillery (1971) and the late Samuel McCurdy (1979), in her 83rd year. Dear mother of Mrs. Lorne (Kathleen) Aikens of RR 3, Mitchell and Ervin Sillery, RR 1 Brucefield. Mr. & Mrs. DeHaan ap- peared before council requesting a zoning change to allow them to build an attached garage to the north of their existing house, and that the side yard be changed from 25 feet to 4 feet. Ttie adjacent owner, Lewis Tasko, consented to the change and council agreed to proceed on the receipt of the necessary application and deposit of 8500.00 Doug Thompson and Paul Thompson appeared before - council regarding the Mud ,Creek drain and were in- structed to contact the engineer prior to the Court of Revision to be held May 5 at the office of the Township of Stephen. Shirley Morley and George Lee attended council regarding the ball schedule for 1:: 1. Council adjourned while they talked to Recreation Committee members Jim Thompson and Barry Neaman. Drain tenders were received on the Conlin -Dixon Drain, Spruytte-Cunning- ham Drain and the Dixon - Thompson Drain. Due to her proximity, Betty Lou Allison was hired at an annual salary of ;500.00 plus ;9.00 per booking at the Hall. The rental of the hall was in- creased from 110.00 to 815.00. The banking proposals were reviewed, and the proposal of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Com- merce, Ailsa Craig Branch, was accepted and deposits SS board support sharing concern arrangements which dim their identity, autonomy and dignity is unacceptable. The board wrote it would agree in an emergency that two school units be ac- commodated under one roof in separate areas for a brief set time. The Huron -Perth board will write the minister ex- pressing concern and stated it was not interested in sharing facilities under any circumstances. The board accepted the resignation of Sister Mary Winifred, teacher at St. Boniface school, Zurich, ef- fective March 31, 1981, and of Pauline McCabe, French teacher at St. Michael's school, Stratford, effective March 31. Also accepted the resignation of Marjorie Glendenning, principal's relief at Our Lady of Mount Carmel school, effective August 31. The Huron -Perth County Roman Catholic Separate School board supported the concern expressed in a letter from the Hastings -Prince Edward County Roman Catholic Separate School board about memos issued recently by the ministry of education on sharing school facilities. The board wrote it felt that some of the policies in- dicated that "sharing" which might be tolerated on a temporary basis, will become a long-term solution and would infringe upon the basic rights. of separate school children in being educated in separate school buildings. By-law Number 1 of 1981 was passed. Council agreed not to increase their wages and to be paid twice yearly instead of yearly as m the past.
