Joint meeting
for area UCW
CLANDEBOYE
The UCW's of Lucan and
Brinsley, as well as the ACW
of St. James Church are
reminded of the invitation to •
join Clandeboye UCW for a
special meeting Tuesday
evening, April 7 in Clan-
deboye United Church to
commemorate the year of
the handicapped with Elaine
Townshend of Clinton as
special spaeaker.
Cancer canvass
A canvasser for the
Canadian Cancer Society
will be calling at your home
during the month of April so
please welcome them and
give generously.
Jean Hodgins is the team
captain for the Clandeboye
area with canvassers, Ruth
Jackson, Bonnie Manders,
Elsie Lewis, Linda Feke,
Audrey Scott, Anne
Revington, Jeanette Ovens,
Hazel Cunningham, Gwen
Lynn, Olive Simpson, Hazel
Williams and Lena Rollings.

Carter returned Sunday
from a three weeks holiday
in Florida.
Nick Nahornive and
daughter Julie, London
renewed old acquaintances
in this area Sunday. The
Nahornive's lived in the
Murray Hodgson farm house
in the early 1960's while
Nick was stat;oned with the
Air Force in Centralia.
Isobel Simpson, Viola
Carter, Joanne and Kevin
Carter visited with Mr. and
Mrs. John Simpson at
Kirkton Friday evening.
John Simpson had just
returned home Monday from
a month in University
Hospital, London.
Tonya and Shane
Williams, Lobo spent a few
days last week with their
grandparents Mr. and Mrs.
Rupert Williams:
Dianne Lynn reported for
jury duty in London
Tuesday.
Shawn Cassils, London
holidayed last week with his
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Jim Cunningham.
Several couples from this
area attended the "Ladies
Night" banquet and dance
sponsored by the Middlesex
Cattlemen's Association,
held at the Komoka Com-
munity Centre Saturday
night.
Play euchre
at Elimville

The Elimville Women's
Institute held a euchre
recently at the hall.
Winners were ladies high -
Verda Morrison, men's high
- Russell Morley. ladies lone
hands - Mrs. Shute, men's
lone hands Lawrence
Beckett. ladies low - Gladys
Skinner and men's low -
Clarence Switzer.
There µ•ill be a final
euchre of the season on April
6 at the hall. It will start
with a pot luck supper at
6.30.
The Elimville United
Church Women had a "pot
luck family night" Wednes-
day evening. A very large
crowd attended.
The hostesses were Mrs.
Alvin Fulton and Mrs. Larry
Fulton. The program was in
charge of Mrs. Howard Pym
and Mrs. Dan Traquair.
The six young people that
attended Toc Alpha (Taking
on Concerns About Life,
People. and Human
Achievement I during the
Christmas break in
Hamilton put on a skit.
In the skit they discussed
different things they had
learned while there and
sessions that they attended.
The six taking part were
Barbara and Brad Skinner.

Mrs. Howard Pym and
Mrs Philip Johns led in a
couple of fun songs. All the
men in attendence joined in
to sing. "There's a Church in
the Wedwood This form-
ed a very good and im•
pressive male choir.
The roll call was answered

ning with the letter of your
name Everyone joined in
singing -Worship the Lord "
The theme was "The
International Year of the
Disabled Person'. Mrs
Traquair read the scripture
Mrs. Pym commented on
the disabled and the han-
dicapped

Mrs. Reg Westcott of
Brandon, Manitoba who was
attending the Silver Broom
Curling in London spent
Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Roy
Westcott.
Mrs. Wm. Young..and
daughter Glenda of Brooklin,
were recent visitors with
Ann Brodie.
